Frank Elton did a nice update to the old FS2000 dh-85 Leopard Moth for FS2004 but I could not find a dh-80.

So .... :)

I am having fun piddling with the dh-80 ... a beautiful British Classic.

YAY! puss moth, and a mr Shupe puss moth too :jump: she looks fantastic, can't wait to get my paintbrushes to work on it :icon_lol:
 
My Dad was a de Havilland man, from appentice days through to 146. He started work with them in the mid 1930's. These old DHs mean a lot to me and I am so happy to see a Shupe de Havilland. I cannot wait.

i hope he looks at the Thruxton Jackaroo and goes "whoa, thats so nice i may have to do it" :icon_lol: i love DeHavilland aircraft, especially the ones from the early 30's and the odd-balls :jump:

BTW it's hard to tell from these photos but it really is a tiny aircraft! Hard to believe it was used in the MacRobertson race to fly all the way from London to Melbourne!
 
Sandar, Smoothie, Kurt, and Ferry, thank you for the nice comments. I am giving this one a little "extra" attention and I hope she will be to your liking. This is really just getting started but I will be happy to keep you abreast of progress.

I have most of the pictures that can be found on the web but, Ferry, I see details already in your shots that I could not make out in my shots. Please do send whatever you have ... I have struggled to see better detail of the gear and wing struts connections to the fuselage but nothing I have is clear.

Size? I like clarity.

Ferry, the second last shot really shows it to scale, you could look over the top of that little thing!
I didn't realise it was quite that small.

The Miles Falcon would be next on my 'want' list, together with the Pander S.4 'Postjager', but at least I have photos of the Falcon..:

Awesome work Milton! Those wings are brilliant. Excellent job on replicating smoothened 3D wing rib work, even in the tail structures as well.

It kind of reminds me of 'what would a Fairchild 24 look like if it was a kid'. Nice that the wings fold. You could throw a tarp over them and store them easily without needing a huge hanger.

Dumb question -- Wing Fold? the original like many DH aircraft of the day folded backwards and rotated so they could be towed on the roads. Once many many years ago I built a balsa and tissue model of this beastie http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nbpennfi/penn12cMollison.htm Jim and Amy Mollisons "The Heart's Content".

By the way Ferry O -- there is a Falcon being readied as part of the ongoing Miles project -- to go with the Whitney Straight, Monarch, Speed Six etc etc

Definitely got the wing fold happening. :)

She will have sliding side windows and operational leg "flaps" as well.

The suspension on this baby is just awesome too ... love playing with that. :mixedsmi:
