Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Douglas A20 Havoc 2D Panel ECU

Hallo Friends,

as you would see on the joined screeny the ECU problems beginn to solved.
Mixture levers are operational and the prop levers. Next to work on next week will be the throttle levers.
I know it's not perfect and certains would have critics, but I try to do what I can. I do not have any knowledge about programming - -

That's a livery that had to be done Huub; lots of missions, lots of wear, and a lot of pride. Thank you Sir. :applause:

Papi, is this what it means to "go to the dark side"? :) That is looking great Sir. :wavey:

EDIT: Oh, that looks like "Dusty", the same livery as Wellis has done?

Douglas A20 Havoc "Dusty"

Dood evening,

Yes it is the same plane "Dusty" but I have seen that on my one it is not so accurate as Wellis's one.
LOL I just did as a break work

Sir Milton,

I'm glad you like it. There is something mysterious about this aircraft. I think most of us know the pictures with the pilot J.E. Pryor in the cockpit. They provide an excellent view on the nose art. It is common belief that these pictures are taken in 1944 at Saidor New Guinea. When I count the number of mission indicated on the nose I come to 75....

In the Squadron/Signal publication 144 you can find a picture of the same aircraft on a scrapyard. According the text with the pictures it is taken in 1945. When I count the number of missions on the nose I come to 75...........

So most likely the picture with the pilot in the cockpit is taken just before its last mission, or they just stopped recording the mission after 75...

Isn't it funny, the things you learn by making repaints :biggrin-new:

Cheers,
Huub

Douglas A20 Havoc, engine control levers

Good evening Friends,
I' m now at work and far from my pc for five days/nights.
Last night I also solved the problems for the throttle levers.
Mixture at the left, throttles in the middle and props at the right outside all work fine.
There is stil a problem I do not understand. The background bmp and the different levers shows fine black border lines.
I must say that I use an old Paintshop 6 version for my work. All the space what doesn't show a part (a lever as example) are in 255x255x255 so transparent. But in the sim there are that damned border lines.
I tried make them at first at 256 colors, than on 16 millions - always the same
I will be on my personal pc at home next tuesday and wednesday.
If someone is willing to have a look at the bmps I will send him a zip with the bmps concerned
I'm waiting for the final release in cause to include all what will be needed for the VC. And perhaps some functions will need some more switches LOL.
Yours
Papi

The history is definitely a major bonus on doing these liveries and yes, Green Hornet had to be done - it is looking good! I am looking forward to seeing more work from Papi and SteveB, and others.

I'm not working on nothing. But I'm having lots of fun playing with it.

I am happy to see you are enjoying the Havoc Steve; thanks for all that livery work.

I'm still reworking the Engines texture Version 4 but took the night off to play with the Sov paint. I'll be back onto Engines texture Version 5 this weekend after my experiments/cockups with versions 3 and 4.:biggrin-new:

Steve

I've finished playing with this one for now. 51st MTAP, Red 15, Northern Baltic, 1944. Time for sleep.
