Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

BTW, I forgot to mention that the canopy curtain is animated.

Click and drag way forward to pull the curtain forwards.
Just click to return to home position.

Ok, can't get the curtain to drag forward. The hand closes ok. Ideas?

Edit: I did finally get it but you have to place the hand and move it pretty quickly. Nice little Easter egg.:applause:

LOL It takes a long drag for some reason, like almost all the way to the windscreen.

Just uploaded Stygian Pigeon for FS9. A version for FSX native and P3D is also available.

Douglas A20 Havoc fuel management

Hallo Milton,

I have tried to work on the fuel selector gauges.
Looking in the aircraft.cfg, it seems to be that there are two fuel tanks in the fuselage over the bomp bay.
Then looking on the pilot notes fuel diagram there a three but going on one line.
So I ask would it not be usefull to make from the two (three on the diagram) one tank ?
so with crossfeed switches it might be possible to have in the panel fuel cock switches as on the original plane.
Just an idea to solve some fuel management problems
Yours
Papi

Attached are some screen shots of the fuel system in the Boston IV manual that represent the configuration I have.

The two center tanks (center, center2) were standard, but the optionall Center3 tank was larger, and was only used when no bomb load was needed.
The ferry tank is the external, droppable tank. It could be used with a bomb load (without the center3 tank) although there is no record of that ever happening.

In FS9, the way the load sheet works is you can have the ferry tank and the center3 tank loaded together.
If you have bombs or torpedo or a belly cannon pod, the ferry tank and center3 is not available, and vice versa.

In terms of fuel feed, I have now forgotten how the center tanks work and will have to do some reading.
I believe they are all in-line serial feeds, one through the other, but will verify.

EDIT: I am attaching a zip file of these screenshots, larger and better to view.

The center tanks are interconnected.

Thanks Huub, another GORGEOUS paint for the "G" model. (Albeit a bit on the battle weary side). She's a beauty! :applause:

Between you and Steve, you have both earned the title of "The Most Prolific Painters of A-20 Havocs on the Allied Front". :biggrin-new:
