Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

ETUO RAF Gutersloh_X with HARRIER HIDES_X - WIP

I wholly concur with the other posters, and I am keenly looking forward to flying my Lightning and Harrier from this airbase. But I have one small comment. The transition between asphalt/concrete and grass is rather abrupt. In reality the grass, because the tips of the blades are usually higher than the concrete, ‘overlaps’ a bit. It is a tiny thing, but perhaps it can be addressed?

Wow, what a delay....sorry for that, guys, but it's still going on...

Meanwhile, I reworked the taxiway edges, now it's no longer that aprupt. Furthermore, the first markings are done...Yes, a final layer with dirt and tracks will follow....

Here the markings at the main apron started....

Beautiful, Manfred! Yes, I think the edges are much better now. The base is really coming alive! The textures of the parking stands are 'as real as it gets'. Will the static aircraft as shown in the screenshots be part of the package?

Those aircraft are AI traffic. Based aircraft are John Young's Harrier GR3 and T4 you already can download at flightsim.com for example. All others are visitors by flightplans....

Marvellous work Manfred! Any ideas of the degree of impact this scenery will have on frame rates?
I'd love to run it, but looking at the incredibly high detail, I don't know if my set up will be powerful enough!
Beautiful work though!:applause:
ChipShop:encouragement:

JD, just issued a statement there and please believe me, the project is not dead! To all who are interested in the latest news of the Harrier Hides FS9, please read:

Yap, just killed by experiments to adjust Gutersloh with the surrounding ORBX Germany North addon. Simply horrible....
Anyway, meanwhile I started to create new fences. I am spending some hours to improve the appearance by using two different textures on it.
New screenshots shortly...

If you need a tester.....:wavey:.

Cheers,

Sorry, guys, not much progress these days because we are in a hurry with the FS9 Harrier Hides as well, working on the Harrier Hides_X and RAF Bruggen simultaneously...
So here the promised shot regarding the new fences appearance...
