Eyes Front - a new Macchi MC.205 Veltro for FS9 and FSX

Hello-
I agree with Huub- Manuele's skin Makes that model... He's also right with respect to the CFS3 G55- that would be sweet in FS9.
Manuele, is the C205 model you mention related at all to the old IS4G C205 for CFS3?
-Mike Z.....

Today was a terrible day until I saw this news. Suddenly everything brightened again! Do you intend to convert both the Folgore and the Veltro or just the MC.205?
Manuele, I know you already have more than enough plans for the future, but Giovanni "Nanni" Cignoni has made a nice G.55 for CFS3 and in the past I heard somebody whisper he would make it available when somebody would like to convert it into FS9. As said I know you already have too many plans, but when you ever get bored
Thanks for the nice repaint. The model was not worth to keep, but suddenly this repaint has made it a complete different model!

Hi Mike/Huub,
The '205 is completely new, it was started by Mr.Zazzetta, but never completed due to the end of his collaboration in MAW project. I suppose it was derived from his '202 (present in MAW). Both the model are different from the old IS4G ones. I'm waiting for news from Mr.Zazzetta....... I'm sure I'll make ONLY their conversion for FS9 after the completing of '42 project, starting with '205. The '55 also is a beautyful plane, If Mr.Cignoni is still interested in a collaboration.....
I think I'll put the Caproni Ca.3 project in the archive for the immediate future......

Thanks for all your efforts Manuele. As you know I'm really looking forward to the CR.42, so I'm glad you will finish this first. But I love the sweet lines from the Folgore and the Veltro. They are definitely among the most beautiful aircrafts ever built. So I am really pleased you will convert these as well.

I will do some inquiries about the G.55. But as you have already more work than time availble I won't push it.

Cheers,
Huub

Yes. . .I also cleaned up the remainder of the cockpit (side panels, floor, windscreen trim), etc. The original texture size was 256x256, basically a postage stamp, lol. I enlarged it to 2048x2048 to get better detail. In FSX, the sim can handle that size no problem. In FS9, if I reduce it to 512x512. . .can the sim accept that or must it be reduced back to 256x256?

I just checked a few vc bmps of various FS9 aircraft. Many are 1024x1024. Bmps of placards were sometimes 512x512. This is just an observation, I am not knowlegable in this at all.

Thanks! There is also a new panel.cfg file that overwrites the current one so that all the new gauges and the new gauge placement are visible. Hope it works for everyone.:salute:

Very nice job, Ed...
With your VC and Manuele's skin, we've got something a lot closer to a silk purse than a sow's ear now... -Mike Z.

I don't usually write in the FS9 forum, but wanted to thank either the creators of the plane (D'Attomo & Quai) and Manuele Villa for a beautiful skin that hides some of the quirks of the texture mapping.

When converted, the plane looks great in CFS2 (not as well as in FS9, but it's still great), and is a welcome addition to both the Regia Aeronautica and the ANR forces.

I have been keeping an eye on your progress with tweaking this aircraft Gents, so off to download and install the A/C and your enhancements - thanks very much! Mike :salute:
