3N Without Ordinance but with Cannons

Revised model for the CFS2 guys who wanted no ordinance but did want the cannons to stay.

Per chance, is there a Paint Kit available for this kitty?

I know I started one way back in the Beta release, as did deveral other.

Caz

For the -3N night fighter, Smoothie may wish to share his package???

Otherwise, attached is the -3N fuselage and engine maps (no change in the engine maps from earlier released stuff).

I should have my templates (for Paint Shop Pro) stashed somewhere around here- I would be glad to send you a copy if you wish....

If his interest is in the -3N, the mapping of the fuselage, wings, and tail have been changed from your Mike to accommodate the nose and taller tail. Same basics, just moved around a bit.

F7F-3 RTWR Version Required Update

I just uploaded this update to the participating RTWR sites.

Grumman F7F-3 WIP RTWR Version for FS2004 - Aircraft.cfg Modification for RTWR Edition

by Milton Shupe, Tom Falley

If you downloaded an earlier version of this aircraft, note that this update must be used in the RTWR.

The tweaks are rather insignificant performance wise. The main change is the Autopilot section to allow the aircraft to be coupled to an ILS for those who like that feature.

The is a specific file for FS2004 and for FSX. Use the correct one.

You should use this version for RTWR participation.

Thanks

I am also attaching it to this post.

many thanks Milton and Tom
for getting this fantastic aircraft ready for the RTWR.
i look forward to spending a lot more time with her.
she's a real sweet heart and a joy to fly,
even in nasty weather, she handles like a dream.

i am anxious to try out the ap update.
and here i thought my poor ils approaches
were due to my lack of skills.

thanks again, Gentlemen

hmm odd, i'll try re-upping it or placing it on my skydrive... after a nap, just got in after 36 hours of what can loosely be described as "work"

Through some last minute testing I discovered that the autopilot settings in the cfg file were not generally capable of tracking a localizer or glideslope well. This has hopefully been fixed should one want to add an autopilot through panel addons.

Hiya,

The link has some problems with at my side, downloads keeps getting interupted, so get corrupted rar-files?

Marcel

SMoothie,

Downloaded it, was 225kb file. Tried to unpack with Winrar and all that was there was an empty folder.

Milton,

Just started playing with the latest Tigercat and noticed an issue.

Sorry to point this out so late in the game, so to speak, but the -3N never had nose guns, the radome blocked the path they would fire through. They only had wing root guns. This was also true for the -4N as well (although it wasn't the radome clearance on the 4n, that precluded the nose guns). The -2N DID have the nose guns. Don't know how much work this will be, for it to be right....

The info comes straight out of Ginter's Naval Fighters book on the Tigercat and the Tigercat in action book.

Not a problem; I can correct that easy enough.

EDIT: Attached is a zip of the model file only that removes the cannons from the nose, removes the rockets, and removes the drop tank (as requested by the CFS2 users).

Thanks

I'ah assume the new model is for the original version with rockets, and not the clean model version?? :salute:
