F7F Tigercat SOH Project

Many thanks to Milton and F7F team. Thanks Milton for sharing the preview aircraft(s) with us. Lots of fun!

Thanks too, to Jeremy aka tankerguy72 for the tanker textures. Works great and adds a bit of color. I slapped em on the fighter version too. Gives you a black-painted belly in that version. Looks like a rough ol bird either on a test flight or heading to be fitted for a tank.

Here I flew the fighter version, with tankerguy72's textures, from the Seattle area south to KLMT, Klamath Falls Oregon, to be fitted for a new tank.

We all appreciate shared efforts that enhance our hobby. :applause:

Was just testing those new convair_cv240 R2800 sounds ... pretty nice. :jump:

I agree about those new Convair sounds- after I plugged them in and tried them out, I went to YouTube to listen to a couple of Tigercat videos to compare... very nice!

Thanks Milton for allowing us the privilige of an early BETA, as well as to Mike for the repaint.

I agree, the new Convair sounds suit this aircraft very well.

Just love the way it flies, perfect in the pattern!

Mike :jump:

Thanks Mike for the new textures :applause:

As for the sounds , while the new Convair sounds are great , I still love the Howard 500 sounds for the Tigercat :jump:

Pete.

Hello,Tankerguy- the Convair sounds are at Avsim...

Milton, that figures- when I was working up my templates, I accidentally got most of my panel lines from a side view of an F7F-1 or-2. Then I found a more detailed drawing on an F7F-3, and 'saw the error of my ways'...

I'm glad everyone's enjoying the paint job- I'll be happy to do it over again for the finished version. Who knows- maybe I'll find another livery that catches my eye...
-Mike Z.

Just for added realism I panned the sounds on the Convair file so that engine one will come from center left on the speakers and v/v for the right. Did not touch anything else! Attached it you would like to try it out.

Thanks Terry! :salute:

Boy, that is exactly my reaction. Looks beautiful, (now) sounds wonderful and flies like a dream. AND, AND, it's a Grumman! What more can one ask for??

If this is merely a beta (and is already great), the final package is bound to be a dream come true. :mixedsmi:

Well, this does not qualify for even an apha version ... no panel, no sounds, no textures, no effects, nothing but an exterior shell and a flight model. This project is really just the beginning phase with much left to be done. With that said, I am happy that you all can get some pleasure out of it. :jump:
