F7F Tigercat SOH Project

All the basic 3D items are clickables (flaps, gear, trim, ECU controls, canopy open/close, etc.)

All objects are mapped and textured.

There are two vcockpit sections, upper and lower panel/console. Gauge ops are smooth with two. You can configure your panels as you wish. That is exactly what PRB and Willy are doing for themselves.

I have made a few more mods to the radios, now just waiting for PRB's panel. Gotta tweak the startup effects a bit and do some basic documentation. I need permissions from someone who has done a temporary paint scheme to use it for this WIP release.

Thanks for all your efforts Milton. Really appreciated! Watching the screenies from your temporarily VC made me realise what we 'expect' today. In the early day of FS9 this was already considered to be a very nice VC.

Cheers,
Huub

That "temporary" VC look fine to me. I am not one who needs, or even uses, a million clickable switches and doodads. I find it hard to use my right hand to control my joystick and the mouse at the same time. I am used to using my left hand on the keyboard to control things like landing gear, canopy, cowl openings, tail hook and wing fold. I have buttons on my stick for flaps and pitch trim. As long as I have a place to sit in 3D and some gauges to tell me how fast I am going to plow into the ground, I am as happy as a tornado in a trailer park.

Well thanks guys :) Just awaiting PRB's recommendations on the panel and gauges and I will put the package together. Keep in mind that most of this aircraft including mapping (and therefore textures) is temporary, the FM will be golden, but the VC of course is temporary. So we will release a WIP "unfinished" aircraft package to play with. Why? you ask ... well, why not. She's a beautiful flyer in need of some permanence, but she is fast, sweet, and functional. You might have fun playing with her dragging tail on a carrier, dropping into short fields, and she climbs like a home sick angel. Just waiting ...

QS,Jr,

Well, there is no beta version but we released a WIP pre-alpha version sometime ago which is what you have.

No other version is available just yet.

Soon

PRB seems to have the panels and gauge ready with some final testing tonight. I hope by Thursday night I can upload this WIP package for the interested SOH membership.

Panels design and textures by PRB, panel and gauges (borrowed from the A-26, Howard 500, xa-38, and Gnoopeys P-47) assembled for this WIP package by PRB; Flight Model by Fliger747; textures by Mike Zola. Sounds for package aliased to the SOH-A-26 (change as you wish).

Features both beautiful 2D panel and popups, and a very nice VC to match with gauge backlighting for nite-time flights. PRB did an excellent job on this. Fliger747 has it flying by the numbers and she is a nice 'hand flyer'.

I have "lightened" the texture and model load as a"lite version" for now to give you good frame rates.

The package has also been tested as a port-over in FSX for those of you with both. Frame rates for me in FSX run at 34-35 limited at 35.

The 300 gallon tank is modeled and animated for dropping and will also drop the fuel and weight. The ferry fuel tank is droppable thanks to a gauge by Robert Sanderson.

I did not include the startup smoke we intend for the later version as that is still a WIP.
Smoke effects by Roland Berger; controlling gauge by Hans-Jörg Naegele.

So, modeling and startup smoke and fire by Milton Shupe.

If any of you want the full interior model for FSX, just ask and I will generate one.

We are happy to bring to all of you this SOH project in time for holiday enjoyment, albeit an unfinished WIP.

Kind Regards, and look for the download available Thursday night UTC-7.
