F7F Tigercat SOH Project

Thanks Milton & Team! what a christmas prezzie... now who do i beg for some blank textures? :icon_lol:

Smoothie, the temporary mapping for the F7F's was done on the short tailed F7F-1 and carried over to the F7F-3 with the tall tail. As a result the tail crosses the ailerons and wings on the map so you can't really get a good paint thing going here. I left it this way purposely to discourage people from investing time in a temporary, WIP, "its all going to change" one off released for the annual RTWR. There is a paint template available if you choose to use it however and that is what MikeZ used to do this scheme. If you choose to do any paints, remember these will NOT carry forward to the eventual release.

Thanks everyone ... and we appreciate the comments. Just keep in mind its just a temporary thing to tide us over until ....

Merry Christmas :)

AWSOME PLANE

Milton, even though it is a temporary release..... it is one of the best flyin planes to come to FS9 and probably your best plane yet :jump::jump::jump::jump::salute::salute::salute::salute:

Superbly well done. The external model, the VC and panel, the flight model. First class for a "work in progress."

Congratulations to everyone on the team.

I put it through everything I know how to do flyin in FS9 and it didnt even brake a sweat, magnificent aircraft.... it is already my #1 favorite

You can thank Fliger747 for the flight model. As a cautionary note, if you like to spin an aircraft, I recommend you have a lot of buffer altitude. Like the RW version, it may take a bit to get her straightened out. :)

In the installation guide, there are hints as to how to release the tank, hide the stick, and drop the wire catcher. She has a relatively slow stall speed, so should be easy to catch a wire. Fliger747 and Willy seem to have mastered it anyhow. :)

PRB did an excellent job on the panel maps, and of course, we still love Scott's gauges. BTW, PRB will have something coming at you guys who wish to design your own panels.

And we appreciate MikeZ for allowing us to use his paint scheme. Also can't forget "Full's" pilot figure, ... now that guy is serious about his flying. :)

Thanks to the SOH members who helped assemble the data, pictures, and drawings to get this project started, and also to all of you for your support.

Ain't that the truth! I was beta testing her earlier tonight just before the 'official' release and got her into a spin while attempting a fairly slow speed loop. Just as I was going over the top she flipped right side up and went into a flat spin!

Hiya Milton,

Just downloaded and only looked so far -> GREAT JOB!!! (and all who participated!!)

The VC is already looking very good!!!

I Made a Mistake ... Sorry Franzi LOWG and MikeZola

Sorry to say I got my hands crossed in credits and paint schemes. The paint scheme released was done by Franzi LOWG ... awesome, huh? :)

The MikeZola scheme I got permission to release is this one, which you should also get here in the library:

My humblest apologies to both Gentlemen. We really appreciate your paint schemes and time invested on this "temporary" model. :applause:

Dropped this bad boy into FSX (SP2-Accel) last night and took it up for a quick spin. Flies like a raped ape! At 5500 feet AGL I put it into a spin, took almost 4000 feet to fully recover. She looks nice and handles nice, definitely not a slouch for being a WIP. Two thumbs up!
