F7F Tigercat SOH Project

Yep, Matt does a beautiful job with his repaints, adding the little details to a weathered skin that I don't have the know-how to accomplish with any believability. Great work there Matt.:salute:

Looking forward to this Matt.

Matt's texture will be included in the F7F-3N "Unfinished" initial release. The package awaits his texture(s). The -3N fuselage and wings have been remapped to accommodate the taller -3 tail and longer nose and avoid the original -1 mapping issues for the -3's you guys have graciously painted.

Primarily adds panel from the RTWR version, updates some issues with the original paint scheme and mapping, and adds retardant drop and slow engine start (cntrl+E starts only - go to spot view to check it out) with enhanced smoke at startup. Retardant and slow engine start does NOT work in FSX; gauges are FS9 only.

You can kinda get the slow start in FSX with the F7F if you select the engine, pull the props back and start with M +++++++. The Tanker version is definitley my fav. I splashed some mudd on here like she would look after a long day of FIRE BOMBING!

Thanks Milton!!

I've been searching forever for a nice Tigercat for FS9. Been in love with this plane since I saw it for CFS2. Means alot that you, and everybody who has worked with you on this project, cared enough to do it justice and make it a reality for FS9. The trial version flys beautiful!!! Can't wait for the finished package. Many Thanks!!!

Thank you LW. :)

I just uploaded the official release of the F7F-3P WIP. It includes what you have from the original package plus Mike Zola's texture, Gary Jones' sounds, a WEP gauge for FS9, a slow engine start gauge for FS9 (works with ctrl+e only), and improved startup smoke effects.

Even with all the extras, the package is smaller than the original as I used a Clickteam installer for better compression. It is still a manual install, decompresses to a temporary folder of your choice. 25MB and A/V scanned with AVAST.

If you all will check this out over the next few days, I will upload to Avsim and Flightsim.

Once it is approved, you will see it here:

LINK REMOVED AS ARCHIVE REPLACED WITH UPDATED MODEL. SEE LATER POST FOR LINK.

Milton,

I will approve it now and delete the older WIP from late December.

Thank you Rami.

For those of you who will download, you might save your old version and alterations.

Because the slow start (ctrl+e) is a basic implementation, if you prefer not to have it, just remove the gauge from the window00 panel entry (gauge30).

Thanks for everyones efforts here on this release. :applause:

someone order a (nearly) complete F7F-3N?

LOL Smoothie :)

I received the textures and after looking, I wondering why things looked strange. Ah, I forgot to add specular lighting to many of the textures. That has now been corrected.

I hope to upload the F7F-3N Nite Fighter package Saturday morning. Here are some shots.

I was hoping that you were going to add load-outs. I meant to ask, but.
..And now that I see you are, are you going to make firing guns too (I hope)

i m a little confused, are these downloads still wips/betas? or the finished planes?

Oh, life is so complicated. :)

My role in the F7F project was to do an exterior model. Fliger747 completed the flight modeling, N2056 is going to do the VC when he can get to it (sometime after the P-61 project).

We wanted an F7F for the RTWR so I built a basic VC, PRB built a panel, Gary Jones and Nigel Richards built sounds, Franz LOWZ, Mikezola, Tankerguy72, Falcon, and Smoothie have all done textures. So, we packaged up a version for the RTWR, a fire tanker for the tanker boys, and the 3N to be released Saturday. All of this is a WIP, and fun.

The F7F project will go on but we have a nice set of flyers here to enjoy. They are not an alpha, beta, or a completed F7F project. This is "interim". These "interims" are a patchwork quilt that when put together are great to look at, and great to fly, or do carrier landings. No idea when N2056 can get to the F7F but meanwhile, we are having fun with this.

Hope that helps. :jump:
