I still fly the Tigercat WIP, experimenting with new sounds and prop textures now and then. I have always liked this plane, can't wait to see what's on the road ahead for the... "Bad Kitty". Now... lemme see, where did I stash those photos of the XP-47?

In the meantime, if anyone wants the rework I did I will gladly upload it with your permission. I am waiting for permission from Herbert Pralle before I do that because of his AP gauge and his instructions asking that we do so.

Ya know I just now noticed that in the VC the night lighting comes up as white instead of red as in the 2D - and I have no idea how to change that. You can tell I fly in 2D 99.9% of the time huh?

No permissions needed from me. PRB did the 2D panel so you might contact him.

The VC gauge back-lighting is controlled by the two textures in the texture folder.

They are vc01_L.bmp and vc02_L.bmp. You will see gray circles in the gauge holes. This is "additive" lighting amplifying the panel textures of the same name found in the panel folder.

You can change them to a very dark red. keep in mind the alpha channels have to remain true black, 0,0,0.

Blackbird have you found any good prop textures?

I have looked at a few but actually, the ones that came with the model are the textures I'm using right now. I am using the original "Fast Cat" engine sounds by Nigel Richards for the Tigercat. I found them at Flightsim a few months back. The sound spread for the different throttle settings seem to work exceptionally well with the Tigercat model.

Thank You! I am using Nigel's sounds also and they are nice. I got a prop texture out of the Blue Angel's "What If" repaint for the Tigercat by Cazzie. It shows the props a little better I think. :salute:

Bounty comes with a knot meter, a bosun who throws a "log" overboard and counts the knots slipping through his hand in a given time. Speed in knots then entered into the "Log".... T

Thanks for clarifying that, Tom. This will be an interesting experience when the time comes. Still, it'll take some getting used to without an attitude direction indicator to reference to.

This is exciting news - the F7F fleet back on the line.

I'm touched that my very first soundset is still in use, but have long wished to produce a richer product.

Milton, I'm no nautical expert but this is a sort of trivia question that may have an impact on your Bounty project. My question is, was HMS Bounty an RN auxililary (or 18th century equivalent)? The reason I ask relates to the color of the gunport bands on the hull. In the photo in your other post they appear to be blue with yellow trim. I read some time ago RN gunport bands were yellow, the rest of the hull black; US gunport bands were white, the rest of the hull black. I suppose other navies had other band colors as well. Could someone here enlighten me about whether this info is correct or not?

I have no answer to your question. The colors right now are simply gmax assigned for differentiation. Once she is mapped for textures, I intent to paint her in the colors of the HMS Bounty Replica after from she is designed. The HMS Bounty was a Coal transport ship re-purposed for the breadfruit expedition.

I would like to get back on topic here. I will start an HMS Bounty thread.

Project priorities are still as listed above. After the Republic project, then back to redoing the F7F series, but probably looking Feb/March time-frame to get this rolling good again. We are all excited about getting back to this but must work our way down the list. Thanks for your patience.
