Flight 19 European Vacation

We did the 500+ mile overwater flight to Madagascar. Sure was glad to see land although I was about a minute from landing before I ever saw it due to the clouds and low fog. Nice flight with plenty of company.

:kilroy: Water, Water everywhere, but nary a drop to drink! Well, this flight was a little longer than we normally fly, and it was over plenty of water. I thought our travel agent gave us the wrong poop again, because, like Willy mentioned didn't see land until we were almost on the runway! And then to make matters worst ground control parked us out in the weeds and bushes! Our travel agent got to be working for Achmed! So long until next time.

Almost a full house tonight. We flew on up the Madagascar coast to FMNM. Nice flight with plenty of good conversation.

:wiggle: Well shucks, here we go again over water, and more water. It seem the rest of this flight plan we will be doing a lot of island hopping which means more water, water and more water. Maybe, one advantage to this plan would be the beaches, hehe, bikini clad, oh shucks I will leave it there. Here are some photos of the last flight from FMNM to FMCH.

Yep, looks like we've got a bunch of island hopping going on now. As long as we don't take a three hour trip and land at Gilligan International, we should be fine.

We made it to Assumption Island (FSAS) okay. My 727 was there waiting on me. The Icelandair paint is just camoflage. Should fit right in in the Indian Ocean shouldn't it?

"And away we go" Here are three snaps thru the wind screen of our take off from FMCH and our approach to FSAS. A very nice flight with Willy, Sky and Peacemaker, PM was flying a C-133, and he made a real nice landing on this strip of land somewhere out in the middle of the Indian Ocean. One more leg and then the CNs will be changing over to the jets, now this is going to interesting! So, Flight 19 have some great flights and Dudley and I will see you all in a few weeks.

Fun, but a bit of a white-knuckle flight to FSIA adjusting to the space age technology. Hated to trade the Connie in but the 707-320C seems well suited for these long range hops over the Indian Ocean.

Nice flight in the HJG/Vistaliner 727-100 from Assumption Island to Seychelles Intl. It was a good workup to our 1,000nm flight tomorrow. I think I have a new favorite toob for FS and a really nice flyer. Even landing it in spot view which I haven't done in a while.

ETA: Didn't know I had scenery for Seychelles Intl. Although it looks like it's for early FS2002 or FS2000.

A Long flight but had fun. A shame I'm the only one flying the Aerodesigns A318. Here's some pics:

-NO, it ain't no cessna

That's got to be the fastest Cessna I ever saw...

Nice long 1000nm flight to the Maldives.

Nice flight from Ceylon to some Indian AB on an island (VOCX). I think we've got the MP AI thing figured out. Until everyone changes aircraft that is.

Great to fly alongside Willy, MaddogK, vW, and Sky. Good conversation during a long flight from Colombo to Nicobar over the Bay of Bengal. (Those "in the know" will appreciate that, spurred by MDK, vW was in top form!)

Good flight over the Andaman Sea to Penang, Malaysia. MaddogK hit a pothole exiting the active and cracked a main, but other than that we all arrived safely.

Had a nice selection of aircraft tonight. A couple of 707s, a pair of 727s and the token DC-8. Good flight although we had to do our approach and landings in the middle of a t-storm. Still worked out good for everyone.

A trip from small Nicobar Island to the revitalizing entrepot city Panang which lies offshore mainland Malaysia. Delightful flight enjoyed by all.

As often happens, Flight 19 weather yielded up a thunderstorm on approach. (This is monsoon season, after all.) Happily, the storm stayed a few miles away and we were able to get in safely enough.

Just stopped by to admire all these beautiful jets. Great pictures everyone.

You are certainly visiting a lot more places than I did on my last European Vacation.:mixedsmi:
