Flightsim.com up for sale

Alphasim did the Kuznetsov with a couple of Sukhoi's. I think that package was called 'Sukhoi Flankers' or something. (drop a PM if you want)
We've already had that conversation, and thanks again. :ernaehrung004:
The IRIS Kuznetsov for FS9 is more of a rumor. Again, most of me thinks it didn't exist or there was some kind of hassle with Alphasim and they removed it from the FS9 package. That doesn't mean that I've stopped trying to find it. :wiggle:

Those odd-ball files are the most interesting to find. I often just scroll thru the libraries to see what catches my eye.
Avsimrus has a huge bunch of unique aircraft.

Loosing any library is quite sad. There are so many sites that have gone.. Garry J Smith's site comes to mind.
I collected a library of files spread across 6 portable drives. Many from vanished sites.
Then, (long story short) my laptop, in it's bag, with all my drives was stolen when I was in hospital, after loosing a fight with a mini bus.
So much was irreplicable. Thankfully, I have found a site or two where I did find those 'missing' files.
Apparently a member is working on their archive for downloads. Maybe just maybe, we can "harvest" some of it to have it here?

Priller

Cannot 'harvest' without permission from the original file creator.
Quite a few have said, in the Readme, as to what site their file can be uploaded to.

And given the fact that the OG Creator may be unreachable, no longer in this 'plane' of existence, etc. it may be best to 'get them while you can'.
I suspect that one day soon, their File Library will cease to exist, and whatever doesn't make the Migration will be lost. :(

Situations like this is where I hate "join walls" as I would say just wayback their whole file library but nope. I get the need for join wall to keep the bots at bay but damm it sucks RN. This is why I really don't care if other reupload what I have made/edited as long as they don't paywall it.

This was a conversation we had at FreeFlight back in the late 90's.
Especially with freeware, if we (as a community) didn't respect the wishes of the file creators the hobby part of it wouldn't last very long.
The concept of using "practical" logic with freeware (and even payware) can quickly become a slippery slope. For example, who gets to define what "abandonware" is and how do we deal with it?
Unfortunately, there were file creators who didn't think of what would happen in 2025. Flightsim and (even) AVSIM would always be there. IMO, we've been dealing with a gradual slide to only payware with some repainting permission. Otherwise, you pay your money and you take your chances. :indecisiveness:
