FlightSim Developers P38 Now Released

I don't think my comment about the decal came across as I intended. The decal makes it even more well done. I very much do appreciate your very high standards. I have several of your paints on several airplanes. I enjoy them all and respect your talent and willingness to share.

Jan Kees, very nice job on the markings! Just a minor criticism, and the same goes for many of the paint schemes included in the product itself, the nose art and tail-boom markings currently are layered beneath the layer containing the stencils. Theoretically speaking, there wouldn't be any instances where the stencils were applied/re-applied over any markings added in the theatre of operations. Anyway, that is all the input I have on any need to make further changes. I found this most apparent on the included Marge scheme, where the nose art on the real thing was actually a photo that was pasted onto the nose (and eventually taped around the edges), yet the texture has the nose-stencils applied over it.

Interestingly, the same aircraft for which GlennC describes, is the same aircraft which I too did a repaint of, "Thoughts of Midnite". Sometime this past summer the aircraft was given the new paint, shortly after the Friedkin family purchased it. LSFM's owner sold it to Tom Blair almost two years ago I believe, who did a bunch of restoration work on it to bring it up to flying condition again, before selling it to the Friedkins earlier this year.

aargh, yes, you're right of course.
I did this on the previous paintjobs, but forgot it here...
ok, back to the paintshop...

Tim,
Your last post for the correct links fixed the gauge problem in the K model

Thanks to everyone in connection with this fine aircraft!

Job well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:applause:

The problem you see on the L model is easily corrected. Download this small zip file:

http://www.fsd-international.com/temp/1a_intL.zip

and unzip it into your FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\FlightSim Developers P38L\model.p38L folder. This will replace the interior model file you have and correct what you see on the L version.

The other things you are outlining here I am not quite sure what you are saying:

  1. You say the Load Manager "hangs". Are you referring to the P38 Load Manager? Because you also say "Turboproter loadmanager ruined". I really don't know what that means. If it is our Pilatus Porter you are referring to this would have nothing to do with the P38. If you could clarify this I am sure I can help you.
  2. You indicate "uninstaller does not work". Which installer are you referring to and what does "does not work" mean exactly? If you are referring to the P38 I don't really understand because the new files had to be installed for you to indicate that you observed a problem in the L model. Please advise.
I assure you we are not playing games, and are always happy to bend over backwards to get individual problems resolved. It is likely there are simple solutions to what you are experiencing that will alleviate any anger you are experiencing.

Hi, Tim, sorry for being a bit harsh...
1. when installing a new version of the P-38, after clicking "finish", the loadmanager clippboard pops up and I`m unable to get it away, other than reboot. Maybe it has something to do with the first install, cause since then the shortcut in the startmenue is uninstallable.
2.uninstalling can only be done by hand (i oversee something?), not in "all programs", not in system/software and not by clicking on the uninstaller in the FSXrootfolder. Errormessage: can´t find
the path..
3.Turboporter loadmanger says, it can`t load new textures and want´s to be reinstalled.
So, I wasn´t that keen on the K-model, but on a sollution for the software problems: how to proper uninstall, and the loadmanager to work, or to get rid of the defect version from first install.
I have to go to bed, night is over at 4.20CET.

Cheers, Thilo

Did you notice the small check box in the bottom right hand side that says"Pilot OK"

Check that and it goes away!

Tim, that wasn't an individual problem. I too could not see the gauges in the L model. I am downloading the file now so I will edit this post if it fixed the problem.
