. I'm not a brain when it comes to Win7. I'll keep looking, maybe I'll search it out with the Windows Search for Files and Folders utility.

C:/Users/(Your User ID)/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft
This is a hidden folder so you need to make sure you can see hidden folders. To do this, click on the Start button and in the Search bar, type hidden folders, then look up in the menu and you should see "Show Hidden Folders". Click on this and then scroll down and click on the statement to show hidden folders.

Ah... Now I remember. Thanks Andy! But Win7 is a little different. Seems that the FS9.CFG file is deeply hidden or in another folder, within another location, on another planet somewhere... I'm not a brain when it comes to Win7. I'll keep looking, maybe I'll search it out with the Windows Search for Files and Folders utility.

Sorry BB, didn't realise you were on Windows 7. I'm a true luddite - FS9 and Windows XP. :icon_lol:

Gentlemen....Meet 'Sir Kernal'

It's official!
From now on, I will be referring to good old BB686 as 'Sir Kernal'

Poor old chap's finally realised he's one of us 'Flipped its'! listen to this;

...and this;

I installed this bird, but for the life of me, I cannot find the FS9.CFG (particular config file) to put the "[OLDMODULES]FSSound.dll=1". Within the main FS9 folder there is a "Config" folder. Inside that folder there are 2 individual files labeled as "config", one is a text document and the other is a Java Script file. Those are the only "configs" I can find within the sim. Tried to put the above in the text document labeled config, within the "config" folder in the FS9 Root Directory, but the incompatability error still pops up. Drives me bloody crazy when I see it. :isadizzy:Anyone have any idea specifically where the elusive FS9.CFG that the above comment for FSSound goes into is hiding?BB686:USA-flag:pS... I like the Christmas theme...

and finally this (the best bit!)...in a Concord thread?...:icon_lol:

I like me Sea Fury, mate... ranks right up there with the venerable F-4U "Hog" (Corsair). Sydney Camm got it right though... after alot of lessons the Brits had flying "Hogs"... and landing them on their aircraft carriers.BB686:USA-flag:

Strewth....:icon_lol:

Poor fella couldn't even remember where he left his fs CFG.file. That's almost as embarressing as leaving your flies undone.

Good old Andy came to his rescue. Even welcomed him (to the SOH Flipped Its Club!

Andy; you're a real Gent, always there when we all need yer! :icon29:

And finally...back on track; Thanks Navtech once again for sharing this great HU and that beautiful pic! :icon29:

Here's the path to fs9.cfg under Windows 7

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9\FS9.cfg

Edit: Oops didn't see earlier answer.

No worries, mate. Even after finding the FS9.CFG and placing the required entry at the bottom (Cut and paste to avoid errors), I still get the warning when I boot up the sim. And it's for the bloomin' FSSound.dll. Thanks Navtech, I fergot all about the "hidden" stuff. I'm not going to park this tub yet, I'll double check all my stuff and report back to the Dispersal in the morning.
FS9 is going :a1310: at me......

PS -- No sweat Andy, I know your intentions are good. Thanks for your quick reply, mate. And as for Nigel, well he's had a bit too much ouzo this afternoon, it seems.

If any of you would be "speedbird" drivers are having issues with the FSSound.dll, even though you have added the [OldModules] FSSound.dll=1 to the FS9.cfg, try putting the FSSound.dll in the main FS9 folder, instead of the Modules folder. Solved the problem for me and the Concorde loads up and flies just fine in the sim.

Thanks to Navtech for pointing me in the right direction. :salute:

Luv ya Sir Kernal!

That's exactly where you were supposed to put it!

And that's why we 'would be' "speedbird" drivers aren't having issues with the FSSound.dll.

And that's also why we 'would be' "speedbird" drivers couldn't understand why you were on safari, hunting down yer CFG file...we thought you woz doin' a bit o' trooophy hut'n or somesuch.

But its also why we luv ya ta bits...our very own BB686...oh go on then, you gets ya flag back...(been mindin' it fer ya)

There you go Sir; :USA-flag:

Crikey....! Now that I have had some time in the Conc... she's provin' to be quite the handful. Fixed the bloomin' FSSound and now I can't get the CofG set properly. From what I have read tho... that's a known issue.:isadizzy:

By the way Nigel, you need to fix your sig, mate. Last time I checked, good ol' "terra firma" was spelled e-a-r-t-h. No worries tho, I remember when I was properly chastised about "El Gato". But wait... that's me! How the bloody hell can I mispell me own sig?

I have D/L'd the Concorde base pack three times over three days and cannot open it. WinZip says it is not a valid Zipfile and Universal Extractor cannot open it either. [No problem with the skin files]

Has anyone else faced this? Is there a solution?

Have you ever tried an alternative Browser?
I have noticed severe fluctuations on different websites for their downloads...
IE8 won't work for me on SOH, but Firefox does.
Google Chrome has difficulties with other sites where IE8 works fine.
I downloaded the Concorde pack with Chrome, and no problems.
I don't think this issue has been widely recognised yet, but it's worth spreading the word...

a MD82 Paintkit or at least a white blank texture for the new HJG modell is far high up on my wish list :mixedsmi:

best regards
Thomas

Nothing wrong with I.E. WinZip doesn't like the Conc, but PowerZip does. I really don't think it's the browser, but I could be wrong cuz' I'm not a wizard on internet protocols and configurations. I'm just sayin' that maybe you might try a different archive utility.
