Like with the FK.58 this is team work. Perhaps it is time to explain who is doing what in our little team.
Michel "oldliner52" Migaud is the genius behind it who makes the model and sorts out the polys. He is also doing textures and the accurate gauges. Many designers have started a G-1 model but not much succeeded in finishing it. The model has quite some complex shapes (fuselage!) and is nearly transparent, so there are are many details visible.
Benoit Dupe is doing the flight model and is trying to get it as close to real as possible. Amazingly there is still quite some historic reference material and so far he has been able to get the model working as it is described.
Cees Donker has provided us with the historical airfield where the G-1 flew from (Waalhaven and Bergen). And now he has joined our small team as beta tester. He already experienced that G-1 one is a beauty once airborne, but a bit of a hog on the ground
So far we don't haven't asked anyone to do the sounds, but like with the FK.58 we might ask Steve "lawdog" Buchanan, whether he wants to do the sounds again.
A few names which might not be familiar;
Arjan van der Logt, who is perhaps known to some as he is the owner of the Simmer's paintshop. He is a great source of knowledge from Dutch aviation.
Pim Pouw, who is more or less Mr Fokker G-1. Pim working in the aviation industry and is currently reverse designing the Fokker G-1, so that a flyable replica can be built in the future. He has been able to help us with his incredible knowledge , but also has been a sharp judge on the external model.
Mathieu van der Bosch, who is one of the greatest experts on instruments and the operational history from the Fokker G-1. And perhaps even more important a great friend. His patience so far has been endless.
And I try do get all the information from our "back-office" to Michel and Benoit and I try to keep everybody (both inside and outside the team) informed about progress. I also do the main textures, which is actually quite a challenge as Dutch aircrafts had an odd camouflage scheme (every aircraft had an individual scheme!) and with the twin boom construction and the strange fuselage there are many points where the textures should line up :isadizzy:.
Cheers,
Huub
