For those who had given up all hope... (Fokker G-1A)

I've been flying this plane since thursday. Haven't flown anything else since then. Need I say more?

Fsx

This evening I did a quick test in FSX. It is port-over but, actually work quite good. Framerates are reasonable and even the glasa and propeller show up normal.

Cheers,
Huub

Today I flew this beauty from Bergen to Waalhaven and back to Bergen again. I made a short stop at Ypenburg. This plane is all I need to be happy! It's a great flyer, very manoeuvrable and capable to make a very tight turn! It's easily put down on very limited fields as Waalhaven or Ypenburg and once you get the hang of the handling on the ground, using the seperate throttles, you can park her everywhere. This really is a dream come true for this flightsimmer. I'm honored to have the opportunity to beta test this one. Am I lucky or what?

I want to be lucky as well Cees! Mike :mixedsmi:

Mike,

Of course you can have an update! Michel is still adding more details to the model. Including very special ilumination of the instruments. Benoit is refining the flight model. Cees is still enjoying to fly it. And I try to supply the necessary information to Michel and Benoit and as the current model has a slightly different texture lay-out I'm working on the textures as well.

Despite the perhaps already 'nearly finished' look from the model in the screenies, there is actually still a lot of work to do. As we all this in our 'spare' time, don't expect the final thing s**n.

Cheers,
Huub

You do very good work and I'm sure this plane will be a masterpiece...:ernae:
IMHO, the Fokker G.I.a is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever made.

Cees is still enjoying to fly it.

Well, I got something going for people that enjoy flying Fokkers over Holland. I'm rebuilding De Kooy for FS9. What about some new hangars? The first screenie shows the old version. The rest the partially rebuilt/retextured hangar.

Thanks Cees, and from the one above it is actually a minor step to this one.

The Fokker G-1 308 left the factory on 11 July 1939 was delivered to the Aviation section form the Dutch army a day later. On 10 May 1940 it was located at Bergen airfield with 4th JaVa (4th fighter squadron). It was damaged during the German bombardment, but repaired the the day after. When it was flown to Schiphol a propeller was damaged and therefore it could fly its first war mission not before 14 May. After a reconnaissance flight, it flew it best known mission. Together with a second G-1 it escorted the only Dutch bomber left (Fokker T.V) in an heroic attempt to destroy the Moerdijk bridges. This would trap the German paratroopers south of Rotterdam and block the way for the advancing German tanks.
The bridge was not destroyed and on the flight back the small formation met a large formation Messerschmitts and the 308 was the only survivor.
On 14 May 14 it flew another reconnaissance mission, on its way back it flew so low, that the propellers were damaged by the trees. After the Dutch capitulation the aircraft was put on fire by its last pilot.

Huub

It is hard to stop flying.....

As escort for the Fokker C.X

and once landed, I can't stop looking at it

The G-1 had special cockpit lights. The gauges had special paint which reflected the Ultra Violet light from 2 special lamps.
