Fnerg,

No worries, that's why they gave me the keys, it's part of the blood oath I took to become a Senior Admin. And I will travel safely.

It's UP!!! Go and get her. Much appreciated, Doug. :salute: I won't have a chance to fly her until this evening tho....:crybaby: LOL!

A Small Fix

In Panel.WB271, the panelmain.bmp has a black value of 3,3,3 and it's suppose to be 0,0,0 otherwise the "outside" is not visible. I tried to upload the correct bmp, but it gets converted to a jpeg, which is not what we want. Since Rami our Librarian is away for the holidays, I've uploaded the corrected bmp to my account at Mediafire.com, you can download it from there.

Many thanks for this great gift Doug:ernae: I'm running it as a port-over in FsX and it looks really good.

Awesome! I was hoping to see some screenshots as I've never seen it on any other computer but my own.:jump: Nice to hear it can be ported over to FSX.

Hello Doug,

Courtesy of Roger's screenshots in FSX - it's brought up a gauge issue in FSX (sim platform issue, not in any way an issue in your modelling). Not to mess up this thread with discussions about the model in that sim - but could you please be so kind as to tell us what is the gauge in the shot below in blue (not working in FSX).

Knowing what it's supposed to be allows me to set about finding a suitable substitute that will work in FSX.

Many kind thanks!

DL

ps Roger, thanks allowing us to post your screens ...

That's the Triple Brake gauge. I notice the Hydraulic pressure gauge is black and the Fuel Pressure gauges to the pilot's right knee are black as well.

Doug

Doug,

I added the patch to the original upload. Our flight leaves at 5:00pm, so I'm leaving in a few minutes, so I was able to do it before I left.

Thanks Doug!

From a pneumatic brake system, I guess this will not be an easy replacement - but we'll talk that over in the FSX thread.

Again, thanks for what look to be a truly superb model - can't wait to try her tonight!

I was able to get home a bit early so I took the Firefly for some T&G's around the strip. The model is outstanding, as well as the animations. I'm really glad the Firefly has reinforced landing gear and a strong airframe. I bounced her pretty good a few times before finally getting the hang of things. Just grabbed the corrected panel bmp. for the Royal Navy version and installed it. I don't have a widescreen so the 2D panel view is kinda squished, but the VC is excellent and works just fine. I do like the views when in the 2D panel mode, especially the view of the front of the plane whilst flying. (you know how hard it is to fly an airplane when looking at it from the front?).

You did a GREAT JOB, Doug. Thanks for your hard work and effort, it was definately worth the wait. :medals:

Any chance of maybe looking at a Westland Wivern in the not so distant future? LOL!

Doug,

Just finished the download and took her for a spin around Shoreham...

What a superb model!

Thank you very much for all the effort you put into this project, it will be a joy to add her to the 'favourites' in my hangar!

Regards,

Stuart :icon29:

Very nice mate. Is there a layered paintkit ?

Steve

Hi Steve, yes there is and they will follow shortly. I have to prepare them a bit better because only I know what's what. lol. But good to know is that I had repainters in mind when I textured the model, so the paintkit will be easy to follow.

Guys thanks for your positive feedback. I'm so glad to be able to get this to you all for Christmas. I just wanted to give you the heads up on a couple things:
Shift-F - Wingfold
Shift E-2 Navigator's window
Shift-T Tailhook

The views such as back-left or back-right etc. you see in the VC mode were done by Scott Thomas, the gauge artist. I was going to change them because what you are actually looking at is the internal model, therefore minus the pilot and a few other things. Not what I wanted. But they started to grow on me and so, I left them. I like the view down the side of the fuselage. So technically, they aren't suppose to be there, but I don't really mind. The view can be adjusted also, or just " // " out those views in the panel cfg.

Doug,

Excellent modeling and animations and I love the textures.

After many long, arduous, but fulfilling hours through many learning curves, she is now share-worthy and proud.

Great to see this one in the library.

Best to you and your future endeavors.

BTW, did you mean "Scott Thomas"?
