FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

My newest project was an Albatros, but not the one you might expect.

I always wanted to add an Albatross D.II in my hangar. And although the Albatros D.II by Gary Aumaugher from aerocrate.com/ isn't perhaps the most sophisticated model, it is the D.II is wanted.

In the livery from Manfred van Richthofen when he flew the D.II with Jasta2 Boelcke

(As I noticed the wheels and lower surfaces are quite clean, the repaint is not yet ready fro upload.)

Cheers,
Huub

For those who think I never fly GA aircraft....

The Beechcraft Twin Bonanza by Eric Dantes has always been one of my favourite GA aircraft. There are many nice retro liveries available for this model.

Some images from the cold war

One of the FS9 installs I have is from the last part of the cold war. The scenery is mainly from Military AI work including the work from the Airfield Construction Group, which they host as well.

This world is really alive with the large amount of taking off, flying and landing AI.

This scenery always makes me happy.

Duxford by the airfield construction group. And in the virtual world (nearly) everything is possible. So the suddenly the Hendon Bulldog is airworthy again.....

And older Hurricane by Robert Sanderson.

Rick Piper's incredible Chipmunk! After all these years still a great model and a pleasure to fly.

Al low pass from one of Dave Garwood's more colourful Hunters.

Nice livery Pete. And I just checked, but by now you must have painted half of the Tutors ever build :biggrin-new:

Wow, well 10% is already quite a lot. Luckily you didn't choose the Bf109 as starting point of your repainters career. :biggrin-new:

But when you keep repainting them, I keep downloading those I like :encouragement:

... from a photo in Aeroplane magazine ... Pete

I'm so glad you mentioned Aeroplane Monthly!

Decades ago, when I was a serious plastic modeler, a hobby shop I patronized sold Aeroplane Monthly on the magazine rack and I bought it regularly. It was one of my most favorite aeronautical magazines. I didn't subscribe because in those days I couldn't afford it, and anyway I could buy each issue as it was published.

Years went by, I stopped building plastic models, that hobby shop closed, and I didn't see Aeroplane for sale anywhere else. I thought about subscribing but it was too expensive for me in those youthful poverty days.

More years went by and I looked into subscribing, but even though I was much more prosperous, the cost of a subscription in the US was just outrageously high and I declined.

Your post prompted me to check again, and I saw that a subscription through the US distributor is no longer prohibitively expensive, so I've just purchased a two-year subscription. I really look forward to reading Aeroplane again!

Here's another

Austria @ 1937

One of 7 model 626 delivered between 1935 - mid 1937. of course we don't have a 626 yet (that is still in the ether with Nigel)
so this will have to do for now. The Austrian roundel was adopted in 1936

I was only able to track down one illustration on a modellers forum; where it was mislabelled as a Breda 28

Should keep Huub happy :)

Most likely we all have a to do list, with things we have to make, to install or in my case to paint. The Aeroplane Heaven early Spitfire Mk.I is on of them. It comes from the early Spitfire set, which is volume 1 of 3. And the 3 sets cover the history of one of the most iconic fighters of WWII. The set is 16 years old and shows his age. Better looking models have arrived like the A2A Spitfire Mk.Ia, the RealAir Spitfire Mk.XIV and the Plane Design Spitfire Mk.XVI, and there are even a few freeware models which have at least similar quality.

But the early Spitfire M.I is still the best two bladed Mk.I for FS9 around. The model is pretty decent, however I didn't really like the original textures (Sorry Bazz). And now after some frustrating evenings with a Gloster Gaunlet I decided it was finally time to do this repaint. Aeroplane Heaven models from this period are not always very friendly for the repainters, and this Spitfire is no exception to this rule. So I already ran in some problems which can't really be solved. But so far I'm pleased with the result. Still a long way to go.

Huub

Really nice work there Huub, both on the tex and the sheen. Roundels are superb.

I like the before and after pics, shows what can be done with an old model....there's life in the old dog yet as they say...(not you Huub! lol).

Thanks for the kind words Shessi. But do I understand you correctly, that there is no life in me anymore? :biggrin-new:
