2005 : The FS2004 Alphasim P51 Mustang with a repaint, made on my request by Bob Reiter aka Greenhouse357
2007 : The FS2004 version from the A2A/Shockwave P51 Mustang done on my request by Jan-Kees Blom, aka jankees. Based on an excellent paintkit by John "Bomber_12th" Terrell. (There is a more detailed 2008 version for FSX).
2011 : The Warbirdsim P51 as included in the little Friends package. Model and paintwork (as a gift to me) by John Terrell, aka Bomber_12th.
To explain the difference in appearance: You had to put all details of the external model in one single 1024x1024 texture with one alpha layer. Jan Kees already had five 1024x1024 textures with alpha layer to put all details in (for the FSX version even five times 2048x2048). John had two 2048x2028 to put the textures is but also 2 bump maps and 2 spec maps. And all with their own alpha layer.
What struck me was that the model became less polished with every new version .
