Nice shots John! I believe the Skyraider is one of my old repaints! Great to see that it is still getting virtual air time "The family wagon" AD-5/A-1E is the aircraft I miss most not having in FSX/P3D.

.. the Corvette at the rear of the convoy reports an echo. I have enough fuel and ammo so take a look.. it's a Uboat!!

.. just enough time to turn and fire a salvo off..

Officially the RAF SAR capability was due to be handed over on the 4th October; Chivenor being the last RAF station to operate. However, due to technical difficulties, a request by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for them to continue providing cover for a further short period of time. The final handover took place last week. Now, the South West SAR is covered from M&CA base at St. Athan in South Wales.
Chivenor is still training but only for 'Military SAR', but only for a short time.

As for RN SAR, I'm sure they stopped before the RAF!

And for the dear old Sea King; April/May next year marks the end of the line! Very sad!

Not quite right, RN SAR finishes end of March next year. Meanwhile the Sea King Mk7 will carry on until 2017/18 in the AEW* role by which point they should have figured out how to get the kit onto a Merlin.

*Technically it's ASAC but I can never remember what that stands for and it just encourages the Baggers...

Memories

Flying around low and slow in LikSki's Aeronca 7AC Champ. This aircraft is representative of the first airplane that I ever owned. I was one of the "beta testers" and Kevin included N3547E in the initial release. Had lots of fun with it in real life before trading for a Luscombe 8A.

Anybody remember the "Champ Camp" thread we had going over on the 2004 page when this aircraft was first released? One of the main contributors is no longer with us. May he rest in peace+

Afaik the Kirk Olsson models are the only ones. The FS9 model looks totally dull/flat in FSX due to loosing all specularity/shine. I converted the model to native FSX to enable specular and envmap but the caviat is that the FS9 VC is lost in the process. When I have more time I want to marry the exterior model with the Restauravia Mirage III VC model, it is not an F1 but it has some similarity.
