GAS PT-22 P3D V 4-6 Legacy FSXA

Honestly I used its freeware version in 2018 and until 2020 so I already had Windows 10 Pro 64 bits and whether on FSX or P3D (v3-4), I never had any problems. It is perfectly stable on an updated Windows.
This software is quite basic: it uses precise file extensions ([file].bgl.off) and depending on the user’s choice, it only renames the archives into BGL files ([file].bgl) and vice versa.
This kind of processing can be substituted by very simple BAT commands or even couple them with the date of Windows to be able to rename the files at the change of season.
Making a script of this kind to rename files according to 3 seasons is quite simple. Here an example that I wrote to manage my autogen of 3 different sources.

Changing the DOS command to rename your files.bgl.off an vice versa should be simple.

I have download the archive and I can do it if I find some time to do it.
If you can do it with the graphic menu, we can add it to the new V2 Phenick Field and that would be great, thank you for offering.

Currently, I am working on a Golden Age Ssimulations project so it's a little difficult to find enough times.

I have installed your v2 on P3D v5.4 and try to launch the Phenick Field Manager FSX.exe : nothing appear at the screen.
Are you sure that you have add in the archive all necessary files ?

PS: What is funny is that I launched the configurator by having opened the ZIP with the explorer without unfolding the archive and the program launched well then crashed

I remember that my configurator cannot run if i don't have two folders in the Scenery folder : "images" and "scripts" which "drive" the executable..
Perhaps, the payware version don't need theses folders and all the information is embedded but I don't think so ...

To compare I have installed my old scenery CYMX-Mirabel (FSX/P3D on http://frenchvfr.free.fr ) and then launched CYMX-Mirabel Configurator Lite.exe:

I have two folders : images and scripts under my CYMX scenery folder.

In any case the configurator in Lite mode still works. I still have the Lite program (and all the documentation) to redo a graphical interface in order to rename some files. I used the 64 bits version !
The max that I can do I to create a equivalent interface at CYMX with the same number of options (Lite version was limited !)

I find also an other scenery LFAF that I have created some years ago with a graphical manager embedded

I have dowload the v1 to see if theses folders (images & scripts) are present in the older release: nothing is in the ZIP !

To bad the lite configurator is not avail for download. Sounded promising.

Due to the lack of an operable Field Manager, V2 of Phenick Field was created whereby seasonal folders were modified prior to launching P3D. If this configurator comes to fruition, then V1 would be more germane then V2 however, there were oh by the ways issued where SODE was issued separate.

@gray eagle,
I don’t like to take ongoing developments from other people so if you want to finish your port, I can make available all the elements of this freeware: documentation, executable, readme and examples.
I can put them on a dropbox link and send it to you.

If I had to do this interface it wouldn’t be with a few weeks given my current projects concerning a Super Stearman.

Warning:
Sorry to say this but I just remove the v2 and install te V1, and test the Configuration Manager.exe and It runs perfectly.
I have try to enable Ambient Sounds and the BGL is rename as it does.
The progress bar used to copy Hight or Low resolution textures is also functionnal ...
I think it is the PRO version that it was used in this addon and the folders "images" & "scripts" are not necessary in that version.
I don't know if you have the information but this exe to run needs some runtime .NET (my windows is updated):
Microsoft NET Framerwork 4.0 is recommended to run the „Phenick Field Manager“.
We can‘t ensure that the program runs properly on older frameworks.
I use the NET Framewok 4.6.1 currently. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2015-2022 are also on my Windows 10 64 bits.

I notice that two Configuration Manager.exe exist: one at the root folder and another under Scenery folder
For me, you should use the exe at the root folder.

The background image embedded in the exe seems duplicated ... do you made some modifications on it to enable a 64bits compatibility ?

I commented before above that I think that this was written for an old OS and our new OS don't want to run it. That is why I devised a way that the seasons can be changed effectively with a very simple copy/paste/rename and only three times a year. I don't know any other way of doing it not being a programmer. It works for me happily. Thank you lagaffe for taking the time to look at it. I'm moving on to a new project also.
