I used Eric Marciano's radar in the single-seaters, and changed the standard HUD for the Simscape Mirage 4000 one - which integrates with the radar - for that "gocha!!" moment.....

Dave

Hi Dave!
Could you explain us how you managed to install Simscape's Hud in this Mirage (which file or which line to modify, etc...), please?

Simply done.
Just replace the HUD line(s) in the panel.cfg. Keep the numbers the same, as they don't need to be changed.
The HUD colour adjuster has also to be replaced with the Simscape HUD brightness control.

So:
1. 'Rollusgauges!hud2' becomes 'Mirage_4000!HUD Main'.
2. 'Rollusgauges!switchhudj' becomes 'Mirage_4000!HUD Brightness'.

.....and that's all there is to it.....other than to remind you that both Eric's radar gauge and the Simscape HUD are payware.

Dave

What's it look like?

Thanks for the "howto" Dave. Payware but certainly worth it.

Well till then i guess i have to wait and keep on tweaking and pimping up the pay ware version of Abacus.....

Here a few examples:

The 1st four are the original version...the last of some tweaking an pimpin'....making gauges..as well as a special HUD

I hope you enjoy them

Still a lot to do though...especially for the 3d pit......to be continued!!
That's a nice project you've got going there. If the Gmax Academy
versions are all released and you decide to stop work, please share with
us what you've done. They sent me a copy of that one and I'd like to
improve it.

Has anyone been able to d/l this in the past couple of days? I can't get to the index page link in the first post of this thread.

Your mod works very well... just have to wait for my registry keys now! :wavey:

Good to know. I'm still idly working on 'shoehorning' the radar and HUD into the "B", "D" and "N" versions - none of which seem to have an obvious place for the radar. I didn't really want to put it into a child window, but it seems to be the only option.

I'm also trying to inject life into the RWR receiver.

It downloads fine -- if you're using Firefox. IE has problems, for some reason.

Dave

And it appears that IE is not a supported option.:pop4:

If IE is not supported then I guess I will not be downloading these. I use IE, it seems to me to be B**L S**T! to have to install a new Internet Explorer for some downloads. Maybe it's just me but this comes across as being a little fishy. Again maybe it's just me getting grumpy in my old age.

I generally use Chrome as my browser.
Going to the site, the menu options under the banner are not visible.
Thus there is no way to get to the Mirage under "Projets" :stop:
How do I know this?
I had a look with IE and found them. :pop4:
Of course there is no download option with IE, but Lo! there is one for Chrome.:isadizzy:
Given that you couldn't get there in the first place, I'd say this is an excellent way to avoid overloading the website with queues battling for ports.:banghead:

Maybe these aircraft will make their way into the public domain where normal people can enjoy them...there, I've managed to include 4 smileys in one post, very satisfying!
