Great thing about avatars is...

Dino.
I would think the term personell would be better .You have soldier,sailor and airman etc but also military personell,air force personell and naval personell and civilian personell etc
Hope this helps.
Cheers Chris

Avatar mode is a Platform feature of Prepar3D v3, it is not present in FSX or P3Dv2.

Aside, following the comment from Trooper, I am considering to include an alternate model with a beret, instead of the cap... but it is still TBD as I am not completely happy with it.
To follow the "national neutrality" philosophy, a couple of samples may be included with United Nations beret (problem with national/service specific avatars is that I'll get flooded with requests for specific units... and well... there are too many cool uniforms you should do)... anyway here is how it looks for the moment.

@IanHenry

Well... that would be cool... but my animation skills are barely enough to get a decent walk cycle for a man... the elegance of women is out of my skills :)

@Speed70 - thanks, I had notice it.

Last minute update... I am trying to add carrier deck crew Avatars.
I'd like to have the package ready by the weekend.

Very nice :)
How is the "running" animation triggered ? Is it just for test, or is there something that will use the "walk" animation when moving slow, and "run" animation when running fast ?

The "running" condition is triggered by a specific control - exact button depends on the controller you have.
I use an XboX360 controller, along my flight stick... I do not recall by heart wha button is it, but you can "toggle" the run mode on/off.

no covers on flight line, remember

Dino, remember to create some 'flight line' models which incorporate either special line helmets worn by ground crew, or no head gear at all.

You generally do not see military personnel wearing standard head gear on the flight line, that is a big no-no.

Great work by the way. Love what you are doing here.

Yeah, I know... I wanted to add a crew chief figure, but I was not convinced of the model quality. I will make another attempt, or maybe I'll add it later as an update.

It works much like the vehicle selection - you can install as many as you want, but you need to pick one.
Avatars can be selected as "vehicles" (in which case you can change as you would change an airplane) or selected "along" the vehicle (in this case you need to reload or change the vehicle in order to change the Avatar).

...aside, following comments on this thread, I have:

- Included a "Crew Chief" figure (basically the generic serviceman figure but with specific headset)
- Included a "No hat" figure (figure is "disabled" by default, meaning it is not used in the default choices)
- Included a "beret" figure (for repainters to depict specific units)

I think it is pretty much done.

Just a suggestion here but is it possible to make an avatar of a pilot with a helmet bag? In 26 years on the Flight Line I can only remember one pilot who would walk from Personnel Equipment to the flight line with his helmet on and visor down. In all other cases the pilot carried his helmet in his hand or stuck it in his helmet bag along with any paperwork. Maybe other Air Forces are different in that sense and it could be that Naval Aviators have a different way of doing things but I thought it was worth mentioning. Glad to see that there is a "No Hat" version for the NCO as well. No hats on the flight line. Nice job Dino!

@falcon409

Pilot holding flight bags or helmets is one thing I considered....and maybe I'll do it in future. Problem is, I already have more tha 35 avatar variants in the package, and there are a lot of cool possibilities.... here is why I added a pilot-with-no-helmet figure.

Anyway... I hope you'll like it!

I'm sure the package will be quite popular Dino, thanks!

Great contribution!

This might be another one of those small plus features that eventually tips the scales and hastens my migration to V3.
