Hawk T2 Released 6/15 (Freeware) (But Two Payware Planes Required)

There's a Hawk T2 on final approach. RCAF and RAF liveries included. It is freeware and will alias to the VC from Dino's T45. There is also apparently hope to add a custom VC to the model later.


I really hope someone does a custom scenery for the training base at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The Canadian Hawks flew from there until just a few weeks ago when they were retired without any replacement for them! Now fast-jet training for the RCAF will take pace in the USA. What a slap in the face when Canada was home to the largest allied training system in WW2, and the UK still uses the Hawk T2.

Very welcome and looks pretty impressive even given the poor quality of the uTube video on my screen here.

Never really understood why this version hasn't had more love before.
 
Stunning project - and a great kind of video style, I like this watching a plane from spotter view. Much better than so many brute and agressive commercial videos with action movie music. Well done!

Looking forward to seeing it in sim, and apologies for the upcoming real word situation rant....

Only heard the CT-155's were on the chopping block a few weeks ago, didn't realise they were already gone. Not even that old in the grand scheme of things, certainly not when compared to the T-38's that the US has.
As for the RAF's T.2's, their serviceability and reediness rates are absolutely appalling, engine issues for the most part. While we still have them on paper, we're in much the same boat... most UK fast jet candidates are now going to the US and Italy due to backlogs caused by the collapse of the RAF's fast jet training system. Less than 10 years ago we had a fleet of 100+Hawks, now we have 40, and 12 of those are reserved exclusively for the Red Arrows. The 28 T.2's we do have, even if they actually worked, are simply not enough to support the needs of an Air Force the size of the RAF.

Same thing in my country. We've got a lot smaller air force, but we did have 33 Alphajets, and those were sold off. Nowadays we send our fast jet candidates to the US. The training may be ok, but upon returning, they're not used to the European environment at all. That isn't just weather and topology, but traffic that is a lot more dense than in the US, and so forth.

Politicians cut back on anything they can lay their mits on and they don't give a damn about consequences.

Listened to a very interesting podcast giving the RAF view of training in Texas, it's not all about saving money though I'm sure that comes into it

Is this the Just Flight Hawk? I didn't see a developer's name in the video. Loved the music. Reminded me of music during my era.

The Omani camouflage is the best Hawk scheme I think. We don't have any scenery for Masirah yet, although my Adam and Mussanah scenery might suffice as I remember them operating from mussanah from time to time.

Says you need the IFE T-45 and JF T1 for cockpit and sounds respectively.

For those of us with just the T-45, I’m hoping some basic FSX/P3D aircraft.cfg edits should be able to use the T-45 sounds as well.

I dont have the JF T1 so agreed - if anyone has any update on aliasing sounds please post here
