Hawker Sea Fury

In my opinion one of the best looking airplanes the British Nation produced. Now I know many will say the Spitfire is better looking, I just like big fire breathing round engines better.
So on my wish list for 2009 is a Sea Fury designed like Warbirdsim's P-51B & C. I have flown the Sea Fury designed some years ago and it was great for it's day. I know...so many fine aircraft and so little time....and so few designers.

You mean the one by David Hanvey and Paul Barry? Still a great plane IMHO! :applause::applause::applause::applause:And I do own the Warbirdsim P-51!

Sea Furies are great aircraft, really big too! A lot bigger than contemporary Spits and Stangs.

I do agree with Cees though; the good old Barry/Hanvey Sea Fury is still a great aircraft to fly. I don't really need a new model, though I wouldn't mind if some designer will start a new model.... :d

P.s. I thought Hanvey and Barry were working on a new version, but sadly it seems they've retired from creating Fs models.

The Hawker Sea Fury is a gorgeous brute, the British equivilant to the Vought Corsair and IMHO one of the finest piston engine fighters ever built. Several are credited with the downing of MiG-15's during the Korean War. It's nice to see that an update is comming for Dave Hanvey and Paul Barry's excellent Sea Fury. I have flown this model since it was released for CFS2 and still fly them in FS9

As freeware goes, this is still a top contender.:medals:

Ditto on that guys! After burning up the skies with swept-back wings I often return to the old standby..Hawker Sea Fury by H+B..! Long-in-the-tooth but it still 'does it' for me. Not only was it a Classic in the real world of aviation but I think H+B's model is a flightsim classic that has been able to bridge several FS Editions. Doesn't get much better than that!..sorry all you P-51, Spit and Bearcat fans.

I was thinking I may have done exhaust effects on this but since I lost most everthing in last hd fiasco does anyone by chance have it???

Hmmm, found a copy on a disk of this with BananaBob's prop and an ediited cfg I'd done some corrections on..so far...has a engstart smoke fx but was orig that had to be renamed or it overwrites fs9 oem file..I may have never finished the fx for engine running...

As a matter of fact, there was one. It was a blue flame exaust effect for all the little exaust pipes on either side of the plane. I may have that still, but I also had a hard drive issue a while back. If I find it, I'll upload it here...

Found it! it comes with the Sea Fury Racer... look for sfrel7.zip over at flightsim

There is also a nice T.20 from the same folks. Though I did some very simple mods to it. I switched out the default sound (DC-3) for AlphaSims Bristol Centarus sounds, courtesy of their Firebrand, and copied out the 3 prop bitmaps from the Sea Fury textures (BC-L)and placed them over the T.20 ones. Nice improvement
Textures and zips are over at Flightsim.com.

Yago 9 did wonderful Photoreal Repaints for that Warbird!

They are from the old Screenshotarthomepage where he had a few Photorepaints for FS 9
It where a dream if he could upload the Rest of his older Photorepaints here at SOH!!!!:wavey::wavey::wavey:

Robert Morane, or anyone, can you tell me where to find the Sea Fury September Pops that you show? Also the repaint if needed.
Thanks
Bob

It is great to see that some of these old fs2004 birds are still being updated for FS2004. I'm really looking forward to this update, as I'll be running FS2004 for a long time to come.
