i've got it handy... also got my 'worry beads' as the Brits call them in hand (or as we know them κομπολόι)... Greek cross hanging on the corner of my monitor also.... :icon_lol:as Andy can attest... i did actually start modelling a Vampire the other day, before my PC frazzled, will see if it still opens but expect nothing fancy, all i've ever made is buildings :icon_lol:

EDIT: Found it and it opens.... no model in yet but the viewport is ready..... see attached image.....

For an up and coming whizzkid; Watch this space...

There's no stopping Him!!!

Guts? He's got the world's reserve supply!

Hi there,

My preferences:

1. Lisunov Li-2 ("license"-built DC-3 by Soviets; enough modifications to justify a proper model);
2. Douglas DC-3S and/or C-117D;
3. Schleicher ASK16 motorglider (lovely plane; have flown in a real one - D-KAXE - several times).

Cheers,
Maarten

Since I rarely fly other than when testing, my interest would be in what to build.

The ones mentioned here that I have looked at and would be of some design interest are:

Lockheed Model 18 C-60 Lodestar (also Model 14 Super)
Pv-1 or Pv-2
Douglas A-20

No jets from my stable, sorry.

The only Piper I would consider is the Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six.

One of these aircraft well be an SOH project next year as a fun project.

There are so many that HAVE been done I am reduced to mentioning some rare ones.

Lockheed yo-3a quiet star and it's variants.

A turbo DC-3, which might already be in the works.

And for the adrenaline rush, a Nemesis NXT.

Hi Matt, there are source files for the old Roger Hardy Vampire out there somewhere. for FSDS i belive, might save you a bit of work, just wish i could remember where they were.
cheers ian

yeah i considered them but then i got an itch to torture myself by having to model it completely, thus teaching myself the ins and outs... (stop sniggering at the back!) :icon_lol:

1. A really nice DH Vampire F.3 or FB.5 with full VC modeled with the latest techniques and software
2. The Basler turbo-prop DC-3 (BT-67?)
3. An Aeronca 15AC Sedan

Manfred Jahn, who did the splendid C-47 for FSX and then ported it backwards into FS9 is working on a BT-67 at the moment....not sure if he will do the same backwards port over in that case as well,
but think he just might.

Hi Milton,

I would be happy with any of them...especially the C-60 and Pv-1/2 of course. If you do decide on a PA-32 I just happen to own the front 1/3 of the taper wing version from 1982 PA32-301 FG ..............so no problem at all getting you any detail
you might want to have. I'll even offer a ride in my baby so you can get the feel of it :D

Cheers
Stefan

all i have so far is Masking Tape, Balaclava, and some chloroform :icon_lol: and a hatred of all things Rupert-y :icon_lol:

this Vampire is gonna drive me insane till i figure it all out... not even thinking of the VC or animations otherwise i'll be kicking up a rooster tail of dust as i run towards olympus to mouth off at Hera for making me such an 'i must learn' type, and thank Aries for my fiery temper when rattled :icon_lol:

And then, of course, you'll need to do the FDE; and FS assumes the rudder is on the centreline, so 2 smaller ones off centre confuse it big styley. Actually, and FDE gurus around who could explain to me how to address that one?

Here's my wish list:

Lockheed Cheyenne Attack Helicopter - This thing, despite being over budget during development was an awesome helicopter. Sixty MPH "sideways"...?? Yes, AWESOME.
Martin Mercatur, ( don't know if I spelled that right or not ).
And yes... a right decent Blackburn Buccaneer (Banana Jet). A true classic British warjet.

...my round!

Nigel, at least 6 ..... :icon_lol:

:icon_lol:...6 silly buggers cryin' in their beer all winter cos they got fobbed off with a Lodestar!

It's an unfair world and I almost feel sorry for the lot of you. And the Lodestar aint no Banana, that's for sure!

There is a strategy involved in all of this. You see I actually had my heart set on the Lodestar to begin with.

So I let you lot get well and truly wound up about the Buc, threw in a couple of lousy old crates that obviously no one would bat an eyelid about, then my trustworthy friend Willy, being the fine Gentleman that he is, stepped in, did the honours and bingo!

Lodestar on the menu!

Now you'll all have a shiny new Lockheed all thanks to me. No applause (just throw the money)!

Plenty of scope for you lads to keep busy too; What if...? Lodestars in Buc paint schemes...desert camo perhaps?

Busy little bees!

LOL .... but actually I had put the L-18 / C-60 on the list in the second post to the query. As I had been longing for one of those for..............ever.
However I do not see any concrete we'll build a Lodestar just yet..............so don't go to crazy happy just yet as it might just spoil it.

Cheers
Stefan
