small update..
the wing is partially infilled and some interior cabin trim has been added - also the main landing gear supports are being fabricated from balsa block material.
the forward main float struts are anchored to these as are the wing struts.
the floats have been laid up and as soon as the wing is completed the floats will be infilled and have their nose blocks attached and surfaced - then I can begin to work on the tail sections.

now both of the main strut supports have been carved, sanded, installed, filled, sealed and sanded again.. I'm still not finished with the process but this is the gist of it.

as you know, the main forward float struts and the wing struts are all attached to these 'stubs' so they needed to be strong and solid. I used balsa block material carved to shape and sanded. Once I am satisfied with the shape and finish I can seal the entire fuselage with a couple more coats of clear sealer. Then I will complete the wings and begin fabrication of the tail surfaces.
After that I need to finish the floats and then make the struts.
Still a ton of work to do on the SR10 but it's coming along

all of the major components are complete except for the floats. They still need to be infilled and assembled along with their struts etc..

still so much to do, but it is coming together...

Thank You, Cazzie - having seen your own artistry displayed on these boards I really appreciate your encouragement!

I'm going to have to extend the floats and also lay a 1/32" thick birch ply skin over the top and sides to make them proper scale for this model.

They were the right size for the Guillows DHc-2 but are a tad too small for this larger Dumas Reliant..

To extend them I will cut them in half at the step and add a 1" thick balsa block and sand it to shape

After I get the side stripes on it'll be time for the panel lines and control surface demarcations - then I can get a nice couple of coats of semi-gloss clearcoat applied..

After that the floats will be mounted and rigged. Then the reg. numbers and a final coat of semi-gloss. Then the glazing. Almost home
