small update on the DC-3

I have a little touch up to do - this is straight after the unmasking. Still need to mask and paint the passenger door / battery hatch cover. I also need to mask off the entire fuselage and re-spray the wings. I ran out of my Gloss Aluminum TS-17 thinking I had a can in reserve.
Once all of that is done it'll be time to apply the livery decals and panel lines - finish the assembly. She also still needs de-icing boots on the flying surfaces. I think the project is coming along pretty well though maybe..
 
anyone else here old enough to remember walking through airports and other aviation venues back in the day and seeing the large, grand promotional airliner models - Connies, DC-4's 6's and later DC-8's - the Boeings and Convairs etcetera?
That's kind of the look I wanted here with my DC-3 model. Queen of the Sky is such a huge legacy after all

the first DC-3 was flown on Dec 17, 1935 - just over a month later the first Grumman F3F-1 was delivered to the US Navy on Jan 29, 1936.
Here from the same era and in the same 1/32 scale are the DC-3 and - well - a derivative of the F3F Navy Biplane fighter

I appreciate your encouragement, Ted - and SOH for its durability and its community.
Working on these projects is all I want to do these days. I plan to continue for as
long as time and the fates allow.
