Hallo friends,

on the german site FS2004-Team some one pointed to an interesting model of the Lisunov Li-2

https://www.avsimrus.com/files.phtml?lastdays=30

It is not just arework of one of the many DC-3/C-47. It is a complete new model. The Problem is that all is in russian.
But when you have understood the procedures to fly this rare bird she will be a fine part of classic aircrafts collection

Best regards

Michael

Hallo friends,
as my pc monitor accepts only a resolution of 1440 X 900 and most of the russian cockpits I know are in that special green,
I have recized alls concerned panel parts to match with my 1440 X 900 and repainted all the dashbord parts in green. As the NAV1 radio and the ILS indicator did not find my agreement I changed this gauges which I lend from a IL-14.
On the german site the did not search long to understand the russian manuals and equipment -the fly this bird with DC-3 panels. Why not? One can also fly an Airbus with a panel from a boeing and so on. On my belief the author have done a nice work and merrits some attention to be payed to.
I tiried to translate the manuals into german via the google translator - some parts are a bit "bizarre". Also I have still not found out all the functions of the switches from the upperoverhead bords.
But nevertheless I can fly her. What one must pas a lot of attention is to tune well the mixture to avoid the cylinderhead temperatures coming to be to hot.
If there is an interest for my little mods for this birds I can make a modifications pack

oups not to forget, there are two versions of the LI-2 from the same author. On my belief the second one is the better one.

Best regards

Michael

Indeed it is a nice model, as I don’t read Russian I grafted the panel from JBK’s Ilyushin IL-14P into the Lisunov, and flew a circuit:

The download includes 16 textures

Preparing to taxi, ground handling is difficult as the steering is almost non existent (but this can be easily corrected in the Aircraft.cfg file):

Taking off from Jardines del Ray (MUCC) Cuba in a mid day tropical rain storm::

Climb out (the gear retraction is very slow) but this might be realistic:

Turning to return. This aircraft is quite sensitive to control inputs, more so than the Microsoft DC-3:

Thanks to Michaelvader for alerting us to it.

You eventually forgot this one here (version 1946-47):

Hallo friends,
to take the panel of the IL-14 was also an idea that I had - but too much differencies
Try to translate the original manuals with google translator and you will see that even some times the google
translator is a bit beneath the way it is possible to under stand how to fly with the original panel
I have joined my german translation perhaps it might help you
To dive into this reartime universe of russian aviation is realy interesting

Best regards

Michael

Thanks for the HU Michael.

Is the 186 MB version the better one, or the 417 MB version? When I follow your link the 186 MB version is the second one.
