Is there a challenging airstrip...

Is anything a challenge for that aircraft? :jump:

Here are a few in the neighborhood ... all less than 2300' and some grass strips. Nice area to fly in.
 
There's some interesting ones in the French Alps, Courchevel,Alpe D'Huez for instance,
or there's Peyresourde in the Pyrenees

one thing you could give a try at any airport, ive done with the FSD porter, is to just land perpendicular on the runway, to really test those STOL craft! or pick out any small spot on the tarmac, surrounding car parking lots, helipads, etc.
 
Land on a rooftop - I've done it a few times with Mike Stone's Pioneer. Downtown skyscrapers usually don't have room, but warehouses and airport terminals usually work well!:d
 
Well it's not Switzerland, but ask the RTW team about that god-forsaken spit of land in the middle of the Atlantic.:isadizzy:

This plane can almost be used as a helicopter. With the right wind, you can pretty much put her down anywhere. I remember one time the wind was really strong up in B.C...i was actually going backwards!...never seen that in the sim before.

So i think any few hundred feet of clearing is good enough for a landing strip :)

I know it's a far cry ( yodel? ) from Switzerland......
but for the past few days I've been flying the Storch up the Appalachian Trail ( Flightsim.com.........ffat v10.zip ). When it comes time to land I find a reasonably level/tree-less spot near, or on the trail and set'r down.
It can get pretty tricky at times !!
The other day I landed on a mountain top, tied the Storch down, pitched my tent, and was starting a camp-fire when 4 very athletic females came down the trail. Seems they were from Amsterdam ( Canal Street??). They were amazed that I could land my big Storch in such a small space.............
Turned out to be an interesting evening..........
 
another interesting challenge I found for this plane was landing in the Piazzo San Marco in Venice. Took me while, but managed it in the end..
 
speaking of flying backwards, has anyone else jacked the winds up to 200 or so knots and fired up an F-14 to have a little fun? stupid, yes, but also very amusing

This is a very tiny airstrip on top of a moutain, somewhere up the valley that starts at Interlaken. I'm sure the landing will be VERY challenging... and the place is beautifull :)
I just hope you have a good mesh for the area (Holger Sandmann did one I believe...)

Wait a second, I may have posted an incorrect link for those sceneries, I think those are the FSX version. Let me find the FS9 one, just a moment...

This zip file is a fix for the Mannlichen scenery included in this big pack of "altiports" (high altitude airstrip, mostly with sloped runways)
