Its so nice to still have a FS2004 forum to go to...

There's better beer out here, than Monteiths or Speights, mate. Like most countries, the small breweries are putting out beers that knock the big firms out of the ring.......

If only they would put them in sensible-size 500ml bottles, instead of those 330ml ladies-sized things. Nothing against ladies, I love them, but if you share a 330ml beer it is hardly a mouthful. Even a traditional Oz 375ml stubbie would be better.

Cheers

I love FS9

Yes, i love FS9!! I like FSX too. i only wish there was more animations such as moving vehicles, birds, and animals in FS9. Then i will probably never stray from FS9.

Count me in..

Hi Bill. Got a pint for you right here. :icon29: errr.. somewhere... Ah, where did this empty glass come from?? :salute:

At the moment FS9 is my only sim on my old puter. As priorities have it I gotta save so I can retire some day, so as long as the old box keeps a chugging away... and as long as there are new aircraft, sceneries, etc., that I can add to FS9... it helps to pass the time until I pull the plug. OR can afford a new box, FSX, and all that other stuff... :engel016:

Aside from the sim, I always look forward to this forum on a daily basis. Love the discussions and seeing the results of everyone's talent. Can't say enough about this home away from home.

Mmmmmm....it's ummm...sort of...ummm...an addiction. I mean....it can be. Right...? Ummmm....in the most positive way. Yeah. Sort of an addiction....this FS9 thing.

Mmmmmm.....yeah. Gotta go fly now.

I have both FS9 and FSX, and fly both. Mostly because the flying club I belong to is filled with mostly FSX'ers. But FS9 is still and always will be my "home sim".

Just got FS2004 loaded on my new PC. It was pure heaven last night - ActiveSky 6.5 running, all sliders right, ENB light bloom running. In a nutshell, the frame rates flew, the sim had never looked better to me. FSX looks good, don't get me wrong, but running like this, the old girl gives it a damn good run for its money. Love it.

Definitely a good bunch of fellers in here, I daresay

Textures for sky, cloud, water, earth...weather engine, bloom...and all those fantastic addons you guys keep producing.

My FS9.5 has never looked better, or run more smoothly - and I figure there are 9 876 512 permutations of all the above left in my sim.

EDIT:

...and they just keep coming!
How's this for exotic?

:applause:

For my opinion... FS9 is still the best ! Okay, I use FSX from time to time...But honestly... I don't like it !!!!!!!!! :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol: We have sooo much nice freeware addons for FS9. AND we can tune it up to look better as FSX "meangrin" :icon_lol:" (You agree ? give me a high5 or bann me "LOL")

Love ya all!!!

SOH is our home!!!...just the very thought of the wonderful community here makes me so gratefull for making so many great friends from all corners of the globe.

Installed X today...Hmmm! Nice, but not 'home'!

We've got almost everything here at '9', and what we don't have has an almost mystical way of appearing when it's most needed.

So, to the many devoted, completely unselfish and entirely likeable friends here...

Love ya all!!!

I bought FSX Gold over a year ago. Planned on a system upgrade until reality and unemployment hit. It is still on the shelf in the wrapper. Flight may be out before it gets installed. Meanwhile, my FS9 install just keeps going and going.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Things are pretty rough here in Greece too!
Fs2004 runs like a dream with all the sliders to the right on my set-up. So I tried X!
Everything gets bogged down...

Nice trees, seasons, very slick water (ahh those reflections) but anything faster than a microlite and I can go and get a coffee while waiting for the next frame...

...and while loading the game I can do a full barbecue for six...so at least the wife likes FSX. She goes all gooey and says we can spend more time as a family now :icon_lol: ...clever people those Microsoft guys...

So this is what they mean by family entertainment!!! :applause:

I'm past bashing FSX, it's a matter of preference really.

I have a machine which runs both FS9 and X pretty adequately, and my sim of choice, for all the reasons we've all read and written about, remains FS9.5 ;)

I just love logging on to the freeware libraries, and finding it very much alive and well.

You can do so much more stuff, with impunity, all over the world.
Time for another gratuitous screen...

I agree with Wing_Z....no need to bash FSX. It is a great sim, and there are those who love it as much as we love FS9. It is a personal preference thing. I prefer FS9 hands down. Not because I can't get FSX to run smoothly....my monster system runs FSX full right sliders without a problem and I haven't tweaked FSX or my system for optimal performance. For my flying style, for the planes that I prefer to fly....FS9 fills the bill nicely...no need to go looking for something better when I have the best (for me) right in front of me.

So...let's not turn this into another bashing thread.....we've had too many of them in the past and they accomplished nothing.

I agree, for me it's FS9, I really enjoy it and with all of the great freeware out there it will continue to bring me hours of pleasure. I'm greatful that we have such a great community of folks that continue to keep this sim so enjoyable.

Thank you all!

Wombat, the packaging size is right, shame about the contents!

When I was there a couple of months ago I had a few Emerson's (from Dunedin I think?), very nice and in a 500ml as well!

What about the "King Brown". Still readily available in most of the bottle-o's in Oz but seem to be favoured by the older generation and dero's.

Anyway, back to FS9........................
