JF F27 released! (29th April)

The Troopship is technically a series 400 IIRC. Their display flying routine was legendary, I have a picture at home of one part way through a loop.

The Troopships were -300Ms, while the C-1 and C-2 were F27-100 Friendships.
the display was awesome indeed, I saw it in Sanicole in the late 80s :)

Cheers

Nice shots. I'll cross check my official Fokker 27 Engineers pocketbook when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the Troopship, was a separate sub type 400 series which shared the strengthened floor of the 600 series (and slightly lower payload)
The 200/300-M was called Troopship in popular parlance.

That'd be interesting to know. Afaik there were also -400M Troopships, but they were not used by the KLu.
Anyhow it is a beautiful bird, no matter what the subvariant is :)
My next paint was in fact a -500, but I want it ;)

cheers

No, the F27-300M (also referred to as F27M-300 ) build for the Royal Netherlands Air Force were the original Troopships. We used 9 Troopships ( C-4 / C-12 ) besides the standard F27-100 ( C-1 / C-3 ) pax/VIP.

Thanks Hank for the info :)

Here is another camouflaged Fokker void any markings, originating from yankeeromeo's request. The ideal plane for your clandestine operations ;)
(The upload will contain optional windows as well)

Cheers

Re: Engine access panel letterings

The texture's quite large resolution allows readable detail lettering, and I still couldn't figure out the text on those engine access (fire extinguisher?) panels on the nacelles:

Maybe some of the F-27 buffs aboard could help me out...?

Forget about it!
As the nacelle textures are used for both engines, it's getting flipped to the other side, thus being not readable at least on one nacelle anyway.
I should have realized this earlier, sorry for bothering...

The font size has been reduced to unreadable stutter, now serving both sides.

Cheers,
Markus.

Question to JF staff: Can this file be put in the paintkit? Friendship_gear_t
There are some cases that this areas should be painted too!

Thanks.

Thanks guys! The paint is revised and uploaded. Take a look at the library :encouragement:
Some more will show up soon.

Edit: Just a correction in the cfg file. Change this lines:
model=200
ui_type=F27-200 Friendship

to

model=300
ui_type=F27-300 Friendship

Best thing to do is upload a new file and ask admin remove the old ...... just so people don't get confused later.:encouragement:

Some fantastic paints coming out for this bird. Any of you talented painters interested in doing the old Piedmont livery?

Actually the above pic is of a Piedmont FH-227B, which they flew as well as the F-27
