Laos 1968 Air America scenery

Do you know anything about LZ BLACKHORSE? The custom airfield in West Virginia I made for Prepar3D and just finished for MSFS 2020, which I named Cox Lane Farm Field because it is private and in none of the sims, I was told, that the owner is a Vietnam vet and put that on the tower he built for the field by my friend who stores his Piper Super cub there. I should have just Googled: there is a ton of information about it online.
 
L54 Luang Prabang, with some corrections, night lighting and the retextured version of the C-123 Provider (static - when will we ever get that one to fly...)

Also, the famous double air strip LS118A and LS118 where the infamous CIA field agent Toy Poe (Anthony Poshepny) was active is in the sim now.

The Helio Courier was one of the aircraft which were extensivly used by Air America. There's a lot of history behind that plane. So I remembered from the old FSX times that there was one, and that the old Vietnam War scenery project also had a static HC object in AA liveries. I found it after much searching and converted it to MSFS.
I hope that maybe one day a dev picks it up and we could have a flyable version of it.
Anyhow, it still looks good as a static object in the sim!

While I was at it, I made a wild Air America livery for the static C-123 Provider - and turned it into a K model with the two outboard J-85 jets.
Some of you might notice another newcomer in the background - a Pilatus Porter, but the PC6-H2 model (Fairchild version with the Garret turbine).
If someone knows how to contact Piglet (Tim), please let me know. Enough for today.

I think that when I release the scenery there will be a lot of gripes among useres because they won't be able to land on them. Landing on most of these Laos strips is a challenge. You have to know your aircraft pretty well to do that successfully. And fight with adverse weather conditions. No wonder that the Air America and CASI pilots where the best. I think that at least 60% of the strips in the scenery are hair raising.
I designed the strips by using original air facility data by Air America / CIA (runway coordinates, orientation, length, surface conditions, and AC type restrictions). Typical parameters are one way (even with tail wind), uphill, rolling and so on. Most runways I make are terraformed, which means they are not even, but are adjusted for the natural topography of the area.
The pilots back then were assigned to regions, for months and flew only a single aircraft type. It took them a long time to get familiar with the area and this had to introduced to them by a experienced pilot in command. Many strips were off limits when one did not have a clearance and training on them. You also absolutely need to memorize the visual cues of the topography in these areas to navigate, as well as land and start sucessfully.
So anyone who uses this scenery will have a real challenge, for most of the strips :)

Images are from today, I went over some eastern strips and made corrections while doing so. I were not there for a while, and had some difficulties (nothing serious, just scrap my landing intention and a go around). I think I will try to make a few videos doing so.

-> it will not be complete. I have to do the old Vientane Airport and Udorn also, and that means 3d object design in Blender and that will take a while. But I can distribute what I have, and that IS A LOT (83 airfields) :)
