Lockheed Jetstar II

Using P3Dv4.5 I still get a CTD every time. I have made the same deletions from the panel.cfg using the 2048 version. Don't really see the point of going to 1024. So I will wait for the next PBR updated beta.

Some setups- not ALL hate everything off Fraser McKays L1326** gauge -->**see in panel.cfg

You take them out -->2 D and 3D ( but thats ADI + HSI too ) may cure your problem. I fly payware ones in that positions

And retracting Taxi light works now too

Thing is, I have and use all of Fraser's popups, gauges, and main 2D panel (as well as the developing VC) using the older P3D beta with the PBR exterior model.. The functionality of it all adds a lot to the experience and immersion.

Edit: logically, therefore, as I have the Fraser McKay panel and gauges - using the original download from flightsim.com - all working fine in the P3D beta, there must be some other gauge in the FSX beta causing the CTD's in P3Dv4.5. Usually it is a module or .gau type gauge that will cause a CTD.

In my case ( NO CTD#s at all ) in P3dV4.5. V5.2 if I use the L1329 entries in VCockpit 2 after some minutes Engine 1+4 stall and cannot be restarted. For others there no issue
Other then this have a look to the sound gauges

We seem to get the light switches working in OH

If after some test its true ( now in P3D ) we do an FSX interior as well
What I cannot cure is VC flicker. Any order or even remove a texture only results in odd results where even the shape changes- WE NEED AN GMAX Expert

That Gerards engine Gauges

There is the known Analog/Digital ones ( forget Engines 3 that is a test on below "FS9 boy gauges"

I will sometimes make an Zip file here - except some gauges- off payware like MFD640

"The FS9 Boy" which was shocked by FSD giving Jims Jetstar up and flew till then Mike Stones in FS) was happy to try Jims. We need to do VC still - there may be an FS9 model too,but he shared this

Next is P3D V4.5-V5.2 PBR Version to be uploaded

So far all progress

Nice to know however, I'd rather pass on that. From what I hear, there are ongoing attempts to modify the model so
as to facilitate retraction of the taxi light.

The model I posted las weekend had the Taxi light set up to retract with the gear door. It does not however extinguish the light. The shockwave gauge does this well. I'm sure someone who knows xml could come up with a simple gauge to do the same thing for P3dV4 and higher.

That said when I moved the taxi light, I inadvertently moved one of the slipper tank landing lights to the zero point of the model. Caught this the other day so here is a new FSX model that has that fixed. If someone who has V4 + can run this model through MCX and add the PBR stuff you should be good to go on the external for the versions of P3D higher than 3 which is what I have.

Thanks a lot

GreyEagle ( thank you ) and myself fixed that yesterday and also the overhead light switches. I will make an update. But right now I am busy with some FSX customers, where even the model with no gauges makes CTD.So I made some lighter ( still 9MB )interior models.- less animation (cabin) + others
Although I do not get the real reason yet

Any hints suggestions would be highly appreciated
( are DDS textures or BMP more heavy for FSX ? I guess BMP?)

I recently experienced a CTD (P3D 4.5) when using the SHIFT + Number keys. Some of them would work and eventually one would cause the cursor to turn into a blue circle then P3D
would shut down. I remmed out (///) some of those entries - I mean twelve map keys? How would one enable a SHIFT + 12 - Anyway I /// out half of those keys and seems better.

Late landing at KTGI. Thanks to Falcon409 for this beautifull KTGI scenery !

P3DV5.2 HF1 - All 2D panels and "unknown" gauge disabled...
For the time being, I start with Ctrl+E, while waiting for the necessary switches and button to allow a real cold start.

I use a "Check Start State" gauge to display the loaded status of the engine/fuel related variables which allow engine start in FSX/P3D.

This is the minimum needed (validated on the JetStart)...

"Systems_Process_L1329" is part of a "full system" to control most aspects of the simulation : 490 local variables ! It is one piece of the L1329 set of gauges issued for the 2D panels.

On my opinion it cannot be used "stand alone" and is probably the reason of some CTD reported here.

My two cents... ;)

Jetstar II Repaint In Work

ALSO Some repaints would be very appreciated

can the community get the US.Airforce one ?
In progress, N313JS supposed to be the last flying Jetstar, now retired.

More work to do on some detail. The only problem I have is getting the pure white fuselage to not be greyish. I am working with the ALPHA, no luck so far. More soon

Brian,
This is a modification of code I use to trigger landing lights to be visible when gear is down. Insert this code into your modeldef.xml and assign the taxi light effect this visibility and it should only turn on when the gear is down.

Code:
  <PartInfo>
    <Name>taxi_light_vis_AND_gear_down</Name>
    <Visibility>
      <Parameter>
        <Code>
          (A:GEAR CENTER POSITION,percent) 90 > if{ (A:LIGHT TAXI, bool) 1 == if{ 1 } els{ 0 } } els{ 0 }
        </Code>
      </Parameter>
    </Visibility>
  </PartInfo>

Sun Visor Won't Retract

Anyone have an issue with the pilot's side sun visor refusing to retract? I can pull it back with the mouse, but when I release the mouse button, the visor snaps all the way back to in front off the pilot's view. I'm using the latest version.

Thanks! :)

I don't have that issue in P3D V4.5 however the visor is not transparent.

Beautiful repaint - many thanks!
Thanks - I will be posting some minor upgrades to it in a few days. It is a very busy and fussy paint job, but I only need a few improvements, that to most, are not even noticeable.

By the way, is your basic fuselage, cowlings and wings showing up white or slightly gray?

I will try to make that visor transparent

You need to move further with the mouse. It goes from all the way back up to center front

It looks close to the other dark blue textures already there. All textures names should be listed as texture.name
whereas yours was just the number N313JS. But I guess that gives one the option of the color they want.

There is a N313JS already there but a different shade on the bottom of the fuselage. I would have to give that texture a different number so as not to over write
the N313JS that is already there. My wings and all are showing white.

IMHO this texture strongly resembles texture NS313JEET (same tail number)

Thanks
