Wow, this is assembling fast! I can see it now, home from work, quick peck on the wife's cheek, pat on the children's head then off to the computer and the dog still woundering who this person is that zips by every day.

How are the FDs coming along? Will there be a paint kit? I'm looking forward to trying this one out.

I riveted some of the parts together like they ought to be. Not yet show-worthy are the rudder pedals and firewall going in.

I've been working on an assortment of things since my last post. More work on the rudder pedals, added some shine to the paint, started working on animating the suspension on the gear, tweaked on the flight model a bit, and today I decided to start working on the pilot.

Just took it up for a spin. What a great lil airplane.. top speed around 200, she trims nicely, is light on the controls but not squirrel-y at all. all around a very fun and enjoyable machine .. great job Robert

For those old enough, didn't Cox make a control line version of this? As that's what I seem to picture every time I see this. I never owned it, but having this in flight sim will be even better. The pilot's helmet/visor even looks racer ready!

We might have to put you to work on September Fate after this beauty is completed.

Robert is doing a great job here on this little "rocket". This thing has a stance. Low to the ground like a panther about to pounce on it's prey. It looks the part of a real racer when walking up to it. It's amazing how small it really is. To think a small/medium build-type pilot climbs in this thing and straps IT on. The quarters are close in like my poor mans corvette, the Opel GT. There's no worrying about sliding about in the seat as you lay it on it's side.

I think everyone will get a kick out of it. I can picture this one in close circuit racing for sure. Or, just scooting around the skies.

yeahh, its an awesome little plane.. I'm just sorry to see it being a bit overshadowed by that BeeGee up there.. this plane deserves a much closer look by everyone..

I worked on the helmet some more (first one looked like he was riding a Vespa scooter), and I am going to put him in a proper flight suit.

He's just a little to clean shaven. I think he needs a big bushy beard. :ernae:

Modeling a beard such as mine is not happening...
Work continues on the "guy". The helmet is pretty much modeled, and I'm moving on to the flight suit.

So I was working on external textures last night, specifically adding rivets. Tonight I realized that for the areas on the interior model where I was including the modeled rivets it would probably be a good thing for the modeled bits to agree with the external representation. These pics show how I am doing it.

I probably ought to seek out Professional help! :isadizzy:

Wow, that looks as painful as actually installing the real things (which I have done dozens of times on the F-16 Canopy). Great job Robert. . .I wonder if everyone would spend as much time on that sort of detailing? Impressive.:salute:

Just wondering about a paint kit when it comes time for that. . . .have you considered incorporating a "wire frame" as part of the PK to help identify various areas of the fuselage and wings?:salute:
