[SUP]:medals:[/SUP]Beautiful artwork Tufun.
Rejuvination which highlights the love and craftsmanship that went into creating the original model.

Love it!

Awesome!:applause::applause::applause: Where was this brand new CB17 found? Great work! :salute:

On my computer! ;) Using paint.net (freeware with plugins), created this PW R-2800 18 cylinder engine. My first project at this level of detail.

Thanks Nigel. Yes, I totally agree, the H-500 has been my favorite since it was released! The past few months, I've been honing my skills in the virtual painting world and the Howard seem to be an excellent choice to repaint. -TF

Having fun with rivets! Now on to the wings... more rivets!!!

Ahhh!
Beautiful, methodical work TuFun.:applause:

All your hours of patience and careful planning invested at this nitty-gritty stage will pay of great dividends later.

Bring it on Sir!

ahh rivets.... reminds me to restart that court-case over job misnaming... Rivetting it certainly isn't, 'tis false advertising! :icon_lol:

looking good TuFun! :salute:

Damn, I wish I had your patience and eye for composition!

If the H500 isn't enough for you, there's a 732 that might need the odd splash of paint... :kilroy:

Very Nice!!! I really like the shot of the Howard with the strobes flashing. You have done an outstanding job with her TuFun! Looking forward to your finished work.

Oh, I have plenty of projects in the works... A-26, B-26, B-58... etc!!! At the moment full focus on the Howard!

Bare metal is fascinating to me, so a few examples from badly worn to predestine. All these examples are practice models I used to understand how to repaint metal. These gave me enough knowledge to repaint Bob's Stearmans and now Milton's Howard to the point I can release them to the public and only at SOH. Now that I feel I can do justice to the example models, I will give them the same treatment as I'm doing with the Howard. The Hustler will be next since I seen these fly at Bunkerhill AFB, now Grissom (1968). My father was stationed there. Two B-58's flew at open house.

Dirty bird example (LQ).

Painted one of the Fire Eaters A-26, and experimenting with rivets (wing only, LQ).

Late model B-26 painted as an early version. Dirty bird, fading, rivets, poor quality I got to say, need to start from scratch. Seriously love this plane... A2A or Milviz needs to do one of these with the big spinners! 4/12

Here's where I'm starting to get the hang of it. Inspired by Milviz B-58 Hustler.
fsx2012-03-2013-29-26-14.jpg

Also my TFF Grumman Cargo needs new engines, which is in the works!

There you have it, my start in repainting aircraft as of 1-1-12.

Oh, by the way this is the first repaint example, done on 1-1-12... one of those resolution kinda of things. Not much, just wanted to personalize it with TuFun Flights in orange.

A parting shot of some of the examples in skinning... very cool hobby I got to say!!! -TF

Bare metal is fascinating to me

Many a' operator had its 732s in mostly bare metal...:p:

It was worth a shot though.

Since the Howard 500 is about the only piston & prop aircraft I fly, I'l definately make good use of your textures (and maybe splash on a bit of paint myself).

That is some very good stuff TUFUN. Love your weathering technique. That A 26 looks like it has seen some time. :icon29: :icon29:

Yep... sent a team out to recover her for restoration! ;)

Interesting... I'm just the opposite. I mostly fly round engine type aircraft, Stearman, Waco, and twin engine bombers (preferable with PW R-2800's).
From what I can tell about repainters, they have a passion for certain aircraft they like to paint. Some like tubeliners, some like warbirds.
;)

You graphics just get better and better :) :applause:

Thanks Milton... looking forward to the "Rounder" models! ;)

While I'm studying the wing rivet patterns from photos, I thought I paint my flagship colors (TFF Cargo brand) on the Howard.
