Milviz F-100D is out

It certainly looks good, but I agree with Zsolt, the FW-948 should not be transparant.
A few more nitpicks perhaps? The red stripes on the rear of the fuselage continue below the fuselage, the badge on the tail is too large, the black stripe on the top front of the tail continues further along the top. Should that serial really be red? I have a feeling the stripes on the fuselage are too large, on the real one, they stop at the 9 of 948. No 'Danger, stay clear' badge on the aft fuselage. There should be no stripes below the cockpit, and a yellow/black patch above the word AIR. I also feel the roundel has different proportions on the real one, thinner red and blue lines, but I could be mistaken there.

As Rick has already made a point of mentioning, he's putting the graphics from an "F" model aircraft on the body of a "D" model. Some parts of the graphics are going to be a bit more"cramped" than they would be if you had the additional length of the "F" model fuselage. I do agree that the numbers should be solid rather than appear slightly transparent and the white bands separating the colors across the back could probably be slightly thinner. All in all. . .a damned nice repaint Rick, looking forward to it's completion.

Picky picky! Just kidding. Thanks guys. Jankees, good eye I didnt notice the continuation of thenstripes under the fuselage. I'll add those for sure. I also didn't mean to keep the engine placards, doh! And i mist have fogotten to disable the Right hand stripes... left side has them. You guys sure keep a guy on his toes. I won't be changing the stripes or the yellow/black emergency canopy jettison instructions placement. The -F models' lengthened fuselage gives adequate spacing and aesthetically pleasing lines with correct placements. Personally i didnt like the results with a direct copy. I actually had it there previously and decided that since this was fictitious anyway I wouldn't place it there by choice. A small compromise for something that to me, looks better on the rail. Can you explain what you mean by "the serial really be red" im not understanding what you mean. I'd like to check out whatever it is youre referring to. I appreciate the critiques...honestly. and i trust your judgements. The "transparency" on the "fw948" is more a function of specular since the actual blending option for my text is normal and its sitting on top of the other layers. Check it from other angles where light isnt directly hitting the text.

You don't see dark rivets on this clear coat paint. I use specular to see the rivets prominence rather than using dark lines. I wont be changing this as i personally think it looks more real. However not wveryone has my same taste and respectfully understand that!

Rick, the FW-948 is a fantastic repaint!!!
Thx for your work!
(ähem..the Skyblazers;-) ..just a little nudge)

On the bad monitor I used to look at your pics this morning, the serial on the tail looked red, well, to my colorblind eyes anyway. I am now in front of a better monitor, and lo and behold, it is black! So no panic there.
As for the FW948, there I do not understand what you mean. In your pics, I clearly see the white stripes through the black letters, so something is transparent. It can be in the normal texture, or in the spec, and there too, you should be able to put the number above the stripe in non-transparent way I think.
Did I mention I really like this paint btw?

Nice! So, I'll also add the remaining black to the top of the fin. dang it! I released it too early! I was trying to hurry...and that's what it gets me...LOL...I had time to my self and my wife and kids we not home! I'd be a terrible developer...you'd all be complaining for an SP! haha...oh wait.... LOL :wavey: I'll try and fix this stuff as soon as I can.

Rick, already downloaded and flying. Small stuff, which is how I see most of this, is of little concern to me really. It's a fictional paint. . .whenever a change comes out I'll get it, but it's too nice to not be flying it now, lol. . .thanks!

v2 almost ready

Well, I'm almost ready with FW-948 v2. Was much simpler than I imagined. The hardest part is aligning the LH side engine stripes with the lower part...RH side complete.

This is my version of SEA camo; Maj. Don Schmenck's 'Mary Jane/Carol Ann' of the 308th TFS, 31st TFW Tuy Hoa AFB RVN in 1969. Not finished - can't find a decent font for the name so will have to make from scratch.

That's how the real artists do it. :encouragement: Looking forward to it.

v2 Complete

Take a quick once over. (Screenshots from a Fresh install of P3Dv3.2)

1. Black upper tail surface added
2. Unit Seal diameter made smaller
3. Engine Double red stripe now surrounds engine completely
4. FW-948 Text not transparent
5. Changed Pilot Helmet to generic modern grey to match photos of pilot I've seen.

Those are the changes I will make. If you like them, then I will upload the fix.
