For the flight dynamics with the stock AF Corsair, I use those released by Fliger747, available here in the SOH file library, the file name: Air File for Milviz_A2A Corsair.zip (or you can simply search for Fliger747 and it will come up at the top)
Those were the flight dynamics which were originally supposed to be released with the aircraft (when under the management of MilViz), but for some reason were vastly modified in the AF release. However, they don't work correctly, as they are when downloaded, as some of the sections of the Aircraft.cfg file have to be changed to reflect some of the changes to the model after A2A/AF took it over.
I hope Tom doesn't mind, but for those who have never used Tom's flight dynamics with the AF Corsair, for the sake of not knowing what to modify, simply install these, as they are all already setup properly and cover all three variants (remember to save/re-apply all of your repaint entries).
John,
I am a bit confused here. The
Air File for Milviz_A2A Corsair.zip contains just one air file while the fliger 727 zip contains three air files that are for the 3 different variations.
Which one do I use? The header for in the aircraft.cfg (F4U1-A_milviz_A2A.zip) = Milviz Corsair V 1.04
fliger747_corsair_fde.zip = 3 folders with seperate corsair.air files.
EDIT:
I think I have it sorted out.
The F4U1-A_milviz_A2A.zip contains
aircraft config file that contains:
Milviz Corsair V 1.04
[fltsim.0]
title=Corsair
sim=corsair
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=white
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
ui_manufacturer="Milviz" <<<<<<<<<<<< Miliviz?
ui_type=Corsair
ui_variation=test
While the fliger747_corsair_fde.zip
Has Three aircraft cfg files (One for each folder or model of the corsair) and reads:
fltsim.0]
title=Corsair 1D 1 <<<< This entry changes with appropriate model of corsair
sim=corsair
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=VF-84
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
ui_manufacturer=Chance Vought
ui_type=F4U-1D
ui_variation=VF-84
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Aircraft Factory" <<<<< Different then ^ file.
atc_airline=Navy
description=Chance Vought F4U-1D
atc_id=167
atc_flight_number=167
atc_heavy=0
atc_id_color=0000000000
visual_damage=0
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Milviz"
atc_airline=Military
atc_type=F4U-1A
atc_model=Corsair
description= Chance Vought F4U-1A
atc_id=f4u000
atc_flight_number=v1.01
atc_heavy=0
atc_id_color=0000000000
visual_damage=0
So, I guess the fliger747_corsair_fde.zip is the one to use, yes? I tried this one and when it lands, the tires plant on the runway without a bounce.
