There is a way to simply alias a sound from another aircraft in your MSFS installation to the C46, similar but not quite the same way as it was done in FS9 or X, where I am sure we all had a folder called FSConv with a ton of different sound files.
I know, in part thanks to my involvement with the Connie project, I had at least 15 different R3350 files.
The engines on the B25 were not only totally different as far as manufacturer, displacement and power was concerned but importantly some B25s still flying have the quite unique short stack exhaust manifolds. They have a very unique sound, even without taking the prop into consideration. The Klaers brothers “In the Mood” was based at L67 when I was there, and sometimes PhotoFanny from Chino would also come over to visit. The stacks with one or two ports like on the Klaers B25J sound very different.
I did change spark plugs once on China Doll, all of them and then helped Tom with the post maintenance runup etc and the post runup belly cleaning

and I did get a short flight with her a weekend later, pretty much just around the KCMA and surrounding area.
I also did a repaint for the FS9 version but in MSFS I have so far not even dabbled with repainting.
The entire file structure and the json file stuff still doesn’t make any sense to me. So now that all of Buffalo and Everts is done, maybe one of the talented artists can get a China Doll rendition into the paint booth.

Cheers
Sunny
If you do have the PMDG DC6 you can simply edit the fltsim.0 section in the aircraft cfg file, for example in the Buffalo repaint found at fs.2
However as good as that sound is, then you are missing a few sounds associated with for example the magneto switches. And just like in the original sound set from AH there is no sound from the starter etc....the engine simply starts at some point.
And no I am not an AH hater, but this is simply incomplete delivery...regardless of the price.

Thanks for the great paint job BTW...have not flown a C-46 flight in anything stock yet.
