Need Virtavia B-29 screenshots please

As an FSX enthusiast and r/w pilot I really want to get this B-29. As a SOH Moderator I will be vigilant of this thread .... Mike :running:

As a developer I can appreciate that that window to fuse transition is a difficult spot. The window itself in all likelihood is a flat plane whereas the fuselage is rounded. If I had the source model I would create a few intermediate polys, each time relaxing the transitional stress a bit, and then try if smoothing does it. Why, if you pass me that part of the nose section (not the whole plane) I'd be willing to give it a try. Got other things to do, but it is a challenge that makes my fingers itch.

Manfred, in that particular window ( the lower rear ), the actual glass / perspex , is curved. A lot of the others are indeed flat panes in a curved frame - there is a filler piece where the gap between flat and curve occurs. But that one is curved, conforming to the fuselage radius at that point. If you need close up details, please please let me know..assuming Virtavia agrees with your proposition.

That's very useful info, and should in fact make the task a little bit easier. On the other hand the rounded corners are difficult to handle, too, and might lead to a shading artefact. Worth trying nevertheless...

Take a look at the A2A B-377. They did some nice work with the windows on the curved surfaces.

OK Guys,
Here's the thing, when we do these models there are so very many things to look at it, is really easy to overlook a "recessed window". You all should know, I have a ton of reference material to look at so we were not at a disadvantage regarding photos specs and the like. Honestly, I looked at it this plane a thousand times and never saw it as an issue. I have even stood mere feet away of the most celebrated or notorious B-29 in history (Enola Gay) and still it never occured to me that there was an issue with the window. As I promised, I have already brought it up to the Boss and will continue to advocate for a window remake.

But the point of what I really want to say is that we put these planes out because we love them and we hope that you will love them too. Yes, we try to make a few bucks to keep the lights on and buy more manuals, but I would be willing to bet that every developer and painter here feels exactly the same way. They do what they do because they love these damn planes. When I see people bickering and arguing over these little inaccuracies, any joy or happiness over a cool new plane is diverted away from the pleasure that might be derived from playing with a new toy. That makes me sad. I am in no way saying people don't have a right to point out various issues or inaccuracies. All I am saying is try not to get get so wrapped up in your point of view that it overshaddows and consumes the entire new release event. If there is a problem, point it out and say it once, we'll take note, and then let's move on.

Now talking about moving on, Manfred, I watched video of your new DC-3 start-up and was thrilled and amazed to see what you have done. I would very much like to talk with you about how you accomplished such a feat. Pehaps we could have a chat though private or email. I'd love to hear how you accomplished the "slow start". And BTW, the DC-3 looks beautiful!

Ditto. As for the slow engine start I have got to say that I just do what I'm told by Hansi, our xml guru ... use this gauge control, tie the props to this animation and vis code, and then after many a trial and error things seem to work out. I usually slow up the process further by requesting more (button engine controls in spot view etc.)
