Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Otter in 2020/24

jmig

SOH-CM-2026
Spent the last four days in Victoria BC. There were several DeHavaland Otters giving rides in the harbour.

That got me thinking that I don't think we have an updated Otter for either MS2020 or 2024. Anyone know of one or someone developing an Otter?

Yes Blackbird is indeed doing one.
John, I was also in BC last week and got a chance to fly copilot seat in a Turbo Otter on a scenic flight by Harbor Air over Vancouver and the coastal mountains. An incredible experience. CF-OOH happens to be the 3rd Otter built, originally a piston engined one as all Otters were.IMG_E5113.jpg

Vancouver. As the saying goes, "That's a far piece from Greece." I love Vancouver. It is a beautiful city, with wonderful and friendly people. If you ever get to the swamps of Louisiana, give me a shout.

BTW, Harbour Air is the same company who was flying the Otters in Victoria.

Indeed quite far but it was a trip we've been meaning to do with my wife since some time and we managed this year. BC and Alberta road trip, lots of hiking and scenery and thankfully, skipped the wildfires and no bear encounters... Will certainly shout if I'm ever in Luisiana.
