Personal rides.

Another repaint which hasn't made it to the library. But I love to fly (or should I say fight) the Avia S-199.

Always careful with the throttle and make sure you have enough speed!

My late friend (94 RIP) was a test pilot on that ( at that time POW in Czech ) .and with him I was Beta tester for the FR one

He always said that was worst plane he ever flow to start and land ( and he had quite a range from HE-51 Legion Condor via He-219 up to He-111 ) and he admired Ezra Weizman a lot even shooting down something with that

First time in the sim for Gee Bee paint I'm working on to do a "stripe & line check". Most everything is lining up pretty good, a few niggles here and there. I've still got to decide what I'm going to do with markings. I haven't touched the cowl yet as I haven't decided what I want on there.

Hey Willie I also like flying Wozza's GEE BEE! That is one fantastic paint. I hope you plan on posting that one when you're done!

I guess i'd better include this little beauty in my Personal Rides; she's an absolute delight to fly.

Nice 'Chippie' shots Martin, the top one's real isn't it? Where does it live now?

Thanks Ted. My intentions are for an eventual release of it without my personal stuff on it. (The Merc Air logo, Buzz Buzzard noseart, etc) But first I've got to finish it which might be a bit as I'm learning paint.net & layers as I go along. Nothing like on the job training! :ernaehrung004: I'm making my own layered .psd paintkit for it while I'm doing it. So there's been a good bit of backing up and redoing things but usually when I do, I've figured out a better way to do what I'm trying.

Also have some ideas for some possible other paint schemes.

Great idea for a thread Huub! I often fly the IRIS F-15E. Always loved the look of the Strike Eagle. Of course, my beloved VRS Super Hornet, IRIS Pilatus PC-21 and the fantastic Flight Replicas Messerschmitt BF-109K. All payware and all top notch FS renditions! The Hornet is a favourite because I worked on them for 8 years in the US Navy as an aviation electronics technician. The PC-21 is dear to me , as it is the newest trainer made by Pilatus, a marque I have history with, having flown one of it's ancestors in real life quite a bit, The Pilatus P-3.

For me, it's whatever I am working on at the moment:

Here is a bit of history on the Bell 222. It was first started back in 2010when Alan Devins (original creator) passed along the source files to me and Brandon Filer. Together, we formed Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations and released a number of add-ons based on old FS2004 aircraft starting out with Erick Cantu's Embraer EMB120 Brasilia. Since then, our project list has grown to include the G7 series aircraft produced by Uncle Milton and his team, our cooperation with Milviz starting out with their Bell 407 and 4 new helicopters as of recent, our cooperation with Nemeth Designs and producing the KA26 and MI2 for FSX as shown in the screenshots. Now back to the Bell 222. The first release lacked so many features and was considered incomplete and was received with very little fanfare, we even got a couple of bad reviews for it...but it's freeware, so what is their to expect. Version 2 was started in 2013 by myself and is the first model I do 3D gauges in and that is something I taught myself how to do, heck, I learned modeling on my own with the 222. The 222 project is dedicated to the memory of my younger sister that passed away 4 1/2 years ago and is one project she got to see me do when she came to visit me before her death.

My all time favourite aeroplane for flying in clear weather! Alabeo's WACO YMF.

IIOg59.jpg

Good idea to use a decent 'Twin' for outback Australia. 'My' Realair Duke.

dt3rOB.jpg

And the Alabeo C195, any excuse to fly her anywhere at any time.

PykPzR.jpg

Cessna C177B Cardinal by Alabeo, it feels right.

'My' trusty C206 Stationair, the 'Go To' GA workhorse.

Cirrus SR22 for Hooning around!

8gbFcL.jpg

And the Corvalis 400TT for the same reason.

And a few 'Warbirds' that I fly.

Hawker Fury Mk.I 'Trainer' by First Class Simulations, shame they didn't do more from this period.

Flight Replicas Messerschmitt Bf109G-8 R2 'White' 3 Northern Italy 1945

RAAF Beaufighter, Dave Garwood's (I had a senior moment Huub!) model, Jeansy's repaint. Out-Bloody-Standing! And I give it a serious workout when it comes out of the hanger!

sCjfMQ.jpg

MILVIZ 'Red Bull' P38, a show stopper.

Where do I start....... :biggrin-new:

I think the beautiful Beaufighter isn't made by Rob, but by Dave Garwood.
I once owned a Benelli 650 Tornado. Nice bike, but wasn't very lucky with it. Engine had severe damage when the chain between crankshaft and clutch broke :dizzy:. A close friend had a yellow Ducati 750 Super Sport, but he wasn't very lucky with. The bike went faster than he could handle. After several crashed he bought something slower.
I have owned a Yamaha XS650 for nearly 25 years, I had converted into a cafe racer. I gave it away to somebody who really wanted it.
Its been at least five years ago when I realised that Dutch traffic is too dense and fast for an occasional motor cyclist of my age........
I have never touched a motorcycle since.

I regret to say that I don't have any experience with racing cars.

Now back to the subject. Two other S-199 paints which I made a long time ago but which never made it to the file library.

1907 is my favourite. It was flown by Wayne Peake when it flipped during take off on December 15th 1948.

D.117 (renumbered as 1901 already) bellied on October 17 1948 after it had been hit by AA. That day it was flow by Giddy Lichtman.

As already mentioned by Thunder-100 the S-199 wasn't very easy to fly. It was too heavy and under powered. However according the comments from the Israeli pilots, take off and landings were the most hazardous part. It could out turn a P-51.
The synchronization from the propeller with engine mounted guns didn't very work smooth. Due to which several pilots shot their own (wooden) propeller.

Nevertheless in the flightsim it remains a challenge to fly this lovely model.

Cheers,
Huub

I had a friend who crashed Ducati's faster than I could keep track of them....I rode one once, discovered you had to be built like a chimpanzee (long arms and short legs) and bought a BMW R1100S instead. It had the same topspeed as his (then) 748, but without the anatomical anomalies.
I still have a R60/5 waiting to be restored, maybe with the new garage....
Meanwhile, back on track, a few more favorites:
the A2A Corsair:

Paul's brilliant Duck:

Dave's Mosquito (there was talk of a fighterbomber at a certain moment...?)

and for the Mustangs, I really do like the looks of the WBS version:

Spent a lot of time skinning my knuckles on these back in the day. Now I like to use it for low and slow scenery exploration.

Oh dear.. motorbikes and aeroplanes!!

This one was a lot of fun. The Breitling Fighters sticker (given to me by Lee Proudfoot no less) added another 150mph to the top end!
zx9r1.JPG

Chopped the 9R in for this one which let go on a cold back tyre.. highsided and gave me a dislocated collar bone (which I still have)
9555.JPG

.. and I chopped the 955i in for this one (which I still have). Don't ride it much these days due to the pain factor.

BOT. For those days when I imagine I'm rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cliff Spink.. I imagine my personal ride would look like this..
