Precision Approach Radar

Pete, I saw your posts over there and it looks like it is not yet equipped to work with USN or USAF airfields.

Just heard from the creator. He said it should in theory, and if so, what airfields would I prefer. Naturally, I told him NAS Pax River KNHK, and NAS Cecil Field KVQQ.

There was an addon, freeware, for FSX that was called something like GCA that provided basically an almost zero zero talk down from about thirty miles out. It was a marvelous bit of software. The popup had the GS and Localizer depicted. This was over twelve years ago. I wonder if this is any where near as accurate. The GCA module could call up any runway in the FSX nav data base.

The freeware was great, works in P3D4, etc. It is essentially a revised panel for the Manfred Jahn C-47. It is available on our site - see here in the warbirds library:

Yes, It was a very convincing addon> Hope MSFS2024 can support something like this. Only rub is that there's a module having to be added to each aircraft that used it. Not as easy as it was in FSX.

An updated (June 2026) version of the FSX/P3D GCA/PAR gauge is available here ...
