  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

All v5 pics look superb instead of the ocean water - waves are too big and blurry to my opinion. How is this inside the sim? Maybe on shots it appears a little different...

If I'll have PTA for v5 I can solve it ;). Hope it will be fixed by official way, I agree.

Noddy, I see that you're using my old repaint/version of "Sierra Sue II". You may want to replace it with this completely different/new version that I released since then: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=180&linkid=23603

With regard to the blurred water when viewed at a distance, I can see that they did that on purpose so as to cause the terrain and cloud reflections to become disturbed/blurred the farther away you are from them (as they would be in reality). I love the effect when live/active in the sim, but not as much when focused in on in static screenshots. Without the blurring effect of the water at a distance, the reflections would remain constant/unchanged no matter how far away from them you'd travel.

Thanks a lot - that helps to understand! :applause:

I think we should have a flight sim convention right there. :)
