Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

For the FlyingIron Bf 109G-6, I've uploaded my repaint of the restored Bf 109G-6 WkNr.410077 (N42109) to Flightsim.to this evening. https://flightsim.to/file/57719/messerschmitt-bf-109g-6-wknr-410077-n42109

I'm still working on new (accurate) stenciling for the drop tanks, but I'll include that as part of an update when I'm able to get it completed. All of the other stenciling across the airframe has been completely redone to match the authentic stenciling on the real aircraft. The real aircraft, WkNr.410077 (N42109), is probably in my top three favorite warbird restorations.

JanKees,

It is from Deimos on the market place. So maybe not the best but, its not bad.

Very few skins for it.

With all the noise around the BF 109. Let's not forget the other masterpiece.

Nice pic, but when I first saw it I became overly excited as I first thought, "OMG, somebody made a droop snoot!" Then I saw the guns and realized it was just a polished nose cap. Still, a good plane none the less. ;)

That being a 20th FG P-38, I remember reading that the 20th FG did that to the noses on their fighter-variant Lightnings for that very reason, making them resemble the droop snoot variants they also had in their squadron. As I recall, they thought it might trick the enemy into thinking they too were unarmed, like the droop snoot versions.

You know, I do remember that as well. I now completely understand how that may have worked.

Bringing last year's WWII Grand Champion award-winner back to Oshkosh. To be safe, when they flew it to Oshkosh last year, they did so by doing two 30-minute legs from Danville, Illinois to Oshkosh (Waukegan was likely the middle stop).
