  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Great shots, everyone !

I'm hoping Santa will bring MSFS2024 early next year, especially now that MS has delegated the release of many new 'features' to the new platform.
This waiting without a sim is more painful than getting a root canal, lol !

I haven't seen many pics of the Black Square TBM 850 ? :confusion:

I spent a fair number of hours flying in one of those going to and from Oil & Gas production platforms. In the early 1980"s we still had a number of Vietnam vets flying those things. You could always tell he was a vet by the way he would takeoff from the platform. Younger pilots would hover a couple feet off the deck then using as much deck space possible to accelerate. Not the old Army vets. They would climb a couple feet the fly off the deck then fly off the edge of the platform, and drop like a rock until getting enough speed to climb out and fly off into the sun set.

Robin Aircraft No More...

I read today a French court ordered the liquidation of Robin aircraft. General aviation loses another iconic manufacturer. :frown-new:

What a shame. My first solo was in a Robin HR-200 (G-BCCO) at Sywell on November 23rd, 1975..... Wait a minute... What a co-incidence, that was 48 years ago TODAY!!!!!!! - Kenneth (See MSFS recreation below!!)

Some late fall flying in the Messerschmitt over Danville, Illinois (where the real aircraft was restored and has been based/flown). Getting very near the 25-hr inspection point now.
