Screenshots!

Spent a decent part of today putting together the documentation for them. Still a little more to do.
I've got a vanilla CFS3 install standing by should that be needed. You people should expect a lot of noob questions from me!! :jump: It's been ages since I played CFS3...

But I'm very excited about this!

Why wait? Go ahead and get started getting yourself sorted and figuring things out. That way when it's released, you'll be ready. James' recommendations above are well worth your time for helping you get started.

I'm downloading that V2 upgrade from mediafire. I'll let you know who I get on (and if there are any disasters)

Does that upgrade include those shaders? Oh, and any pointers on settings for AMD users like me?

Ok, got the V2 upgrade to work. Now for the key bindings.

I must say, it does look nice though!

Ha, that's different G, great stuff.

Ahhh...and what's better than standing next to your Spit on a beautiful British summers day.....;)

@gecko do you have some kind of timeline on the release of your incredible improvements?

Sorry, don't want to rush you, but what you're showing is just incredible.

Priller

The best I can say is hopefully very soon. Just tonight Andrey sent me an amazing update that improves lighting on scenery and terrain at dawn and dusk dramatically. These shots may not look very different from some I've posted before, but believe me, in person, the difference is incredible. And hopefully very soon, you won't have to take my word for it. Still some ongoing tuning and honing, but it will be worth the wait.

Man @gecko , those shots look almost MSFS like.

On a side note, I've almost got my control bindings like I want them and have just blown a couple of Ju-88's out of the sky. Great fun!

And even if v2 improves the graphics quite a bit, it's still a bit cartoonish. If someone can give me some advice on stopping the texture/objects flickering and improving the clouds, that would be highly appreciated!

Cheers,

Priller

Something a little different: randomized weather for the user interface scene.

I have 24 additional folders in my missions folder, inside each folder is a frontend.xml file with different dates, times and weather files so all 3 things can change each time the game loads, you must leave the original frontend file in the missions folder as well,
The game just chooses a different frontend randomly, giving you different seasons, sun locations, shadows, background aircraft on the airfield and weather each time you load in. I do a similar thing with the UI music wav files so I get different music each time
Im guessing you have found a way to do it dynamically though, nice job
