Recently moved on to skinning the upcoming new MK I Spitfire, some of you might remember the 1.24th Airfix kit with this scheme, I do. July 1940, 54 Sqd, P/O Alan Deere.:biggrin-new:

stunning!
I would decrease the the normal map bump level (wing surface), however its a matter of personal feeling ;)

@Mixxer
Great shots ! it's rare view here seeing finland air war! keep posting mate ! :encouragement:

@Bravo/4
Beautiful skin john ! love every skins that you made! :encouragement:

Great texture there John. Just one thing; a point which I have made also on other occaisons and re WOTR; I always think the aircraft should be more scuffed up. By chance I was watching 'Reach for the Sky' on BBC iPlayer yesterday. I have several criticisms of the type of aircraft used there (inc. for BoB Spits); Hurris seemed better, but what I did notice was how scuffed up they were. For instance the undercarriage 'spats' or whatever, were pretty dirty; I assume from the grass fields or general dust/ mud from taxing or to/landing. Also quite marked where pilots climbed up or panels opened by maintenance. Also gun port and exhaust dirt. Now I know this is a LOT of extra work.:wiggle: So not a criticism but perhaps an extra bonus look?

Yea James you are right regards the weathering, I do have other schemes that will have more, I just try and keep a balance, as not everyone likes heavy weather! :untroubled:

The bump map will likely be toned down more before release Borek, I'm still playing around with it at the moment, it's probably the leading edge that needs lowering more than anything?

Thanks Wiek, I enjoy seeing them in your shots!

Here's a slightly more used MK IIb James, but I will go further/dirtier! lol

******* amazing! Now if only I could polish up metal bullet holes so they could do the realism you have achieved some justice.....

Awesome Spitfire Mk II !! Can't wait for it's release. Thanks for all the hard work to bring it to us. Much needed. Regards,Scott Edit: Will bump mapped aircraft work in a non-AnKors shaders install ?

unfortunatelly not, Scott. its the Ankor feauture - I mean you will not se the bumps. its additional texture layer which will be not loaded / rendered at stock CSF3 game install. you will see a "flat", common skin texture surface... as you can see the Ar 234 :)

Looks great John, really looking forward to working with the Mk.I!

One thing you'll notice in John's screenies btw, is there are two different shapes of spinner, as fitted to Rotol (rounded spinner) or De Havilland (pointed spinner) propellers. Each type will have its own unique characteristics in the FM.

Boreks BMW Flugelrad !
