  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ

    Due to an increase in the number of new members who are trying to systematically download our entire Resource Library (one new member yesterday tried to download 3,000+ files AT ONCE!) we are being forced to implement some changes regarding who can download what, how many files at a time and at what speed. As the forums and Resource Library share the same bandwidth when the Library gets overloaded with demand like that the forums fall over, as we have all seen recently. It's sad that greed has forced our hand in this way but we must do something for the benefit of all our legitimate members (many of whom paid money for the upkeep of the site) and to prevent the files stored here being used for nefarious purposes. Many of our uploads have specific conditions tied to them that forbid uploading to any other site or deny uploading to any site that has a 'paywall' (i.e. a pay to download policy). Due to the number of mass download attempts recently we can only assume that somebody, somewhere, is attempting to stock up a new file library with our files and we owe it to our up-loaders to protect their files and intellectual property especially as many (like my own LDR Development projects) are made available at SOH only and are specified as such in the 'read me' files.

    The forums and Resource Library will be taken offline as of 13:00 EDT with the forums coming back online shortly after without the resources library while we work on setting up permissions on the new Library module.

    We hope our members understand why we need to do this and will bear with us while we implement the changes.

Section F8 F-86 revisited

512th Fighter Day Squadron was stationed at RAF Manston UK. In October 1954 the squadron moved to Soesterberg AB in the Netherlands were it would remain until September 1955. On paper the unit moved to RAF Bentwaters in the UK in 1955, however personnel and equipment remained at Soesterberg AB and were assigned to the newly activated 32nd Fighter Day Squadron.

According the USAF policy 32nd squadron was chosen because of its historical link with the Netherlands. During WWII, 32nd Pursuit Squadron had been based at Hato AB at Curacao which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. 32nd Squadron would remain at Soesterberg AB until 1994.

So this Sabre fits perfect with Ian's latest Manston scenery and with the early version of the future release of AVP's Soesterberg scenery.

I was reading through this thread, I tried to find the Section-F8 Sabre and had no luck. I was Jealous , jealous I tell you, such beautiful work, and I could only watch from outside the airport fence. In desperation I went through my downloads from years ago when I had more time with FS9 and there in 2015 was the zipfile, waiting for me to discover your artwork 10 years later. I've downloaded the three files you have uploaded. I can not wait to see them in the sky. If you do the bare metal version perhaps I will attempt to repaint it in the markings of the W.V. ANG where my Father was a pilot. then they transtioned to the F-86H. After that the squadron transitioned to the BoxCar, and my Father not wanting to be a transport pilot transitioned to the N. J. ANG and the F-84F. Which is what he was flying when called up during the Berlin Crisis and went to France.

Sorry this took so long to respond but been busy wjith scenery and travel so it has put me a little behind. Finally got this paint installed and very Nice L'Iguane. In fact, it inspired me to do a 1954 Traffic file at Soesterberg using Ian's AI paints from our RAF Manston 54 Traffic and your flyable to join them. Here they are shortly after arriving in November of 1954 from RAF Manston. Looking forward to the 32nd version as well

Soesterberg is getting close. Over 50 custom building by Kalle and many custom aircraft paints by Huub and Deltadart and others, both flyable and AI to make this a very unique custom scenery More pictures to come soon.
